Summary

Alice is used to taking photographs for a living – not having intimate pictures of herself posted for all the world to see, thanks to a disgruntled ex-boyfriend. Now her clients are cancelling appointments, and she’s almost out of cash. What else could go wrong? Oh yeah, her roommate has scarpered, leaving Alice completely out of luck.

Enter Tom "man whore" Maddens. Having disappointed his father one time too many, he moves to Brighton, ready for a new start. And where better to begin it than in Alice’s newly-vacant spare room? And if he tries to seduce her at the same time? Well, he’s just living up to his reputation isn’t he?

But then he didn’t bank on actually falling for her. Will his reputation as a commitment phobe put a stop to any sparks between the pair? Or can Alice put aside her trust issues and take a leap of faith for Tom?

Enjoyable chick lit

Just finished listening to the audio version of this book. It is the third book in the series but could be read as a stand alone story too. I loved listening to it, as I did the other two as well. The characters are believable, likeable (mostly) and the story has the right balance of laughter, and sometimes sadness. The narrator told the story well. I would recommend to anyone who loves a good chick lit and wants something that is easy to follow and enjoyable.

A Fab Listen!!

The Brighton Babes are back and I have to give this story five stars as I found myself laughing from the moment the audiobook started. It was just what I needed to lift my mood.

I've listened to all three books in the series and all of them were brilliant. This is Alice and, man whore. Tom Maddens story and it is not to be missed. The narrator Victoria Riley was great as Alice, it was like listening to a friend.

Alice and Tom are not without their ups and downs and are a very unlikely pair to be coupled you'd have thought. It takes them both a while to realise that they're actually made for each other. Of course, they are joined by the whole gang from the previous stories and I just loved it. The friendship they all have with each other is just great.

If you've read or listened to the other two books in the series then you wouldn't want to miss this one.

My favorite in the series - great narration!

This was my favourite in the series - I liked the first two, but for some reason I found the protagonists in this installment more relatable. It might be that the author seems to have found a comfortable stride with this group of returning characters, or maybe having by now more background knowledge about each of them just makes them more three dimensional, but in any case I found myself routing for them. Most importantly, at least to this audio book addict, the brilliant narration by Victoria Riley guaranteed an incredibly enjoyable few hours of easy escapism and lighthearted entertainment with a dollop of naughtiness.

Another great love story from Laura Barnard!

It took me a while to get used to the narrator's voice (slightly different then I had envisaged) and I wasn't a massive fan of her portrayal of Tom's voice. However, when I settled into it I really enjoyed listening to the third of the Babes of Brighton series.

This was my favourite book of the series so far and I really enjoyed the development of Tom's character, who I didn't really like at the start. The audiobook made me laugh aloud (probably more so then if I had been reading it myself) and Alice as a character is hilarious.

It definitely wasn't a chore to listen to this audiobook and I would recommend, especially if you want a flirty holiday book!

Hilarious RomCom

Alice Watts is flipping hilarious, her words (she has such a potty mouth), her outlook on life, and her friends. I was outwardly laughing throughout. Then there’s arrogant, smug and annoyingly cute Tom ‘man whore’ Maddens. Gross, obnoxious, yet vulnerable at the same time, he made many decisions that to me were unacceptable, yet true to life. Some you may say are unforgivable, a lot of the things he did were all to forget Alice and his wayward thoughts of her. At the same time he could be so sweet, thoughtful and caring. I spent half my time hating his life choices and the other half loving him. I understand why Alice didn’t stand a chance against him. They both appeared to have got themselves in pickles one way or another, it was certainly entertaining discovering how they were going to fix their messes. Oh, and can I just say the scene with Pickles in the park was hilarious. Great writing, a totally addictive story, and true to life characters. Narrated by new to me Victoria Riley, who did a bang up job of narrating both Alice and Tom.

Lovely and heartwarming

I really enjoy this audios they are so heartwarming and fun to listen to and the friend dynamics feel so real. This really reminds me of times with my friends when we just act silly and fall out but we are always crying on each other as saying sorry the next day. This time Alice is stuck with Tom as a roommate and on top of that her jerk of an ex has released revenge porn of her. She is trying hard to save her career and not fall for Toms charms along with putting up with her annoying parents and brother. I loved this story and it left me smiling.

Worth a listen

This is worth a listen and at times had me laughing out loud, not only due to the story but also due to the superb narration.
