Summary

Three haunted young men. A terrible curse. One girl who could break it...if this place doesn't break her first.

From the first time my parents decided that getting their next hit mattered more than keeping me fed, I learned I couldn't trust anyone - until Cade. My foster brother took me under his wing and sheltered me from the worst of the crap thrown at us.

So when he heads off on an exclusive scholarship and everyone around me starts denying he ever existed, Roseborne College has some explaining to do. I'm not leaving until I get answers.

The school I barge into isn't what I pictured. The staff claim Cade's never been here. The students glare like just looking at me offends them. The classes involve more torment than teaching, while sobs and howls fill the night. And three very different, unnervingly appealing guys - one of them a teacher - act way too invested in my arrival.

Some unnatural power holds this place in its grip. The more I dig, the more horrors I uncover. Finding Cade might not be my biggest problem after all. It's looking like none of us, me included, will escape this place alive.

Academy of the Forgotten is the first book in a gothic paranormal trilogy with shades of Beauty and the Beast. If you love snarky heroines, damaged heroes, dark secrets galore, and reverse harem romance with no choosing required, look no further! Just beware: Once you enter Roseborne College, there may be no coming back...

Not your average academy story

I received a free audio copy of this book directly from the author for an honest review. Eva Chase is most certainly becoming one of my favourite authors her plots are so creative and twisty you definitely couldn’t see what was coming with the end of this book! This hasn’t been your average academy book or heck probably not even your usual RH book either which makes it engaging and totally different from anything else. The grounds of the academy are perfectly described so you always feel you know where you are in the story and the characters are all different in their own ways. Each have their own stories and issues. Honestly have loved this book.

This audio you won’t forget

Book 1 in a new series by Eva Chase. This story is a gothic modern reverse Harem. This one will have you wondering what is going on right until 90% of the story . You will keep on going just wondering what’s going on at the Academy. Heroine is Trix Her 3 mates are students at the academy. Trix goes to the Academy trying to figure out what happened to her brother, strange things are happening. Once someone goes to the Academy people get their minds altered . The dean and the professors say they never knew her brother. She gets to glimpse her brother , when one of her mates take her out to the woods. Trix can’t believe her eyes of what the Academy did to her brother. Can’t wait for the next one Both Lidia Dornet, Jason Clarke did a fantastic performance for this audio . They did all the characters great

Life is just about to get weird

I thought this was going to be a love story at an academy but it is so much more, how our choices will effect our future and our ability to learn from our mistakes. Narration is very well done. A trilogy with a powerful lesson within. Maybe a series of books in the future that should be studied at school. A brilliant concept.

This place is creepy

Man, Eva has done it again. The first book in her new series will keep you on the edge of your seat and you will just fall off it at the end. I am not going to give you too many details as they would ruin it for you. Beatrice, it Trix as she likes to be called, arrives at Roseborne College looking for her foster brother. He came here a year ago and hasn't been heard from since. Not only that but she seems to be the only person who remembers his existence. The students and the staff at this strange school say they don't know who she is talking about and try to get her to leave. Three guys seem particularly interested in her: Jensen, Ryo, and Elias. One harasses her, one befriends her, and one totally avoids her. She is not going to let the strange students run her off, but the strange classes might do her in. Her sleuthing doesn't seem to be getting her anywhere, until it does. Be prepared to kick something when you get to the finale...and then sit back to wait for the next installment. I read the book as an advanced reader and was given a copy of the audio book too. My review is voluntary.

too slow but interesting

well developed and interesting characters, though I would not call the mc snarky. intriguing plot line but it was executed at a sluggish pace, so much do that I had a hard time getting through it. props to the male narrator for being able to do a female voice correctly. that's rare. good narration on the whole.

What A Nightmarish Academy!

I don't read many mysteries but thought I would give this academy series a try. I’m familiar with this author and know how talented she is. The Cursed Studies Series is nothing like I have ever read before. This is by far the scariest school I have ever heard of! The narration was excellent and brought the story to life. The narrators are perfect for this book. All I can say is this is a Suspenseful Mystery/Thriller that will keep you in the edge of your seat trying to figure out what is really going on in this crazy place. The main character is a strong very persistent heroine with a difficult past. I honestly would never have lasted a day in this strange College before running for the hills! The more she investigates the more frightening things she discovers. Everyone treats her strangely and say they don't know who she is looking for. The story develops at a slow pace with very little being revealed until towards the conclusion when some crazy twists leave you shocked and wanting more. Overall a great new series!

Dark and Twisted!!

Academy of the Forgotten by Eva Chase and narrated by Lidia Dornet and Jason Clarke is the first in the Cursed Studies series. We meet Trix, our FMC as she is entering the college where her foster brother was last seen. Upon her entrance, we meet Jensen, one of our MMC's, who does everything in his power to get her to leave. Then we meet Rio, another student, and Elias, a math teacher who isn't faculty. This is a dark themed RH, where torture is a daily occurrence for the students. If you have triggers then be warned. Would I listen to this book again? Yes as long as its daylight Would I recommend this book to others? Yes as long as they know about the triggers and are of age This is an RH series and has very dark and twisted themes. Recommended for 18+.
