Summary

A defiant girl just discovering her powers. Four hot, arrogant men determined to break her. Who will surrender first?

When mages slaughter my parents in front of me, I’m allowed no time to mourn. It turns out I’m the long-lost heir to a royal family of dark magic - and the four scorching hot guys I’m meant to rule beside have no patience for my grief.

They expect me to fall in line.

Learn my lessons at this college of magical villainy.

Cultivate a power that feeds off people’s pain.

Take my proper place as a vicious queen among ruthless kings.

And when I refuse to turn my back on the kindness I grew up with? They resolve to wring it out of me.

No way will I bow to any heartless prince, no matter how brutally alluring. They can turn on the charm or tear me down, but they can’t break me, even if I can barely get my magic working. I will find justice for the people I loved. When I tap into the dark power inside me, I’m taking these villains down.

Royals of Villain Academy is a university-age paranormal academy series. Expect magical villainy, a tough heroine who bends to no one’s will, a dollop of steam, and a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance where the men discover the joys of sharing.

Enjoy over 30 hours of excitement in one audio box set! This set contains the first four books in the Royals of Villain Academy series: Cruel Magic, Vile Sorcery, Sinister Wizardry, and Horrid Charms.

Not one to miss!

I received a free audio copy of this book directly from the author for an honest review.

I found this a pretty intense academy book that hooked me from the start. It has guys that literally you want to throttle at times but with chunks of their pov’s that make you think twice to just why they are the way they are. It’s certainly going to be a slow burn here but from enemies to lovers deal but each has their own story to tell. With such a strong, fierce but relatable female lead Rory it makes this book easy to find enjoyable but equally I can see why some would hate that she’s so bullied by the love interests. This actually slightly reminds me of young guys who pull the girls pigtails of the girl they like sooo I rather liked it and found it just proved her strength. Rory has such an inner strength that you can’t help but love and also slowly working her way on the guys to make them question what they have been taught and how they think. I’ve really enjoyed the time it’s taken to weave this world and the plot is very intriguing with certain questions about what the future holds and I’m certainly ready to keep reading. The characters continue to grow throughout especially hearing the guys POV’s. There’s certainly a cliffhanger or two in these books and you’ll want to devour them all with every twist and turn.

A fantastic Royal Mags story

A fantastic Box set that everyone should get. This is from book 1 to 4 of Eva Chase paranormal series. There are lots of action, lots of mystery , there is the good Mags against the darks Mags . Eva wrote strong characters, the female, Rory and her four men that will go against her because they think it’s owned to them to rule .
Rory always thought her parents were her real parents , until she was kidnapped and taken back to the world where she belonged . The four men will make life real hard for Rory and put her through difficult circumstances. Not only will they trick her during the university days but also try to turn the school against her . Will Rory overcome the tests and show the four men that she can’t be pushed around .

Meg Sylvan, and Stephen Dexter performance is fantastic. They brought the characters to life . You can tell the characters by the tones they both used

I love this series, it is my guilty pleasure!

The storyline is very unique with the way magic is fuelled by others emotions, and is full of twists and turns to keep you guessing. Rory is an enchanting and strong heroine, who's ever evolving relationship with her bullies is addicting. I really look forward to the next in the series to see what challenges this group have to face next. The narration is great and very distinctive for each character. I highly recommend listening to this series.

Slow moving, predictable, ok story.

The actual book:
Ends on cliffhanger. I don't actually feel the urge to listen to the other half of this series to find out what happened.

Story was ok, a bit long drawn out. Characters were decently developed with actual change as the books continued. A positive though is the actual 'harem' where each character had a differing personality and their personalities were clear. The side characters seemed to barely exist and lacked much personality of their own. All female side characters had one of two personalities, 'mean girl' without any real reason or 'scared of everything but friendly'. There doesn't seem to be any reason for our main female (Rory) to suddenly decide that she likes these guys who are aholes, especially the one who is the worst.

Performance:
Narrated by: Meg Sylvan and Stephen Dexter
The performance was a bit lacking. Voices used sounded the same for different characters while varying between chapters causing a bit of confusion. Meg Sylvan's performance caused Rory character to be excessively whiney. Stephen Dexter spoke... as... slow..ly... as... poss...ible. I guess that helped increase the length of the production. The chapters that Stephen Dexter reads, when they include Rory's voice, he does the voices instead of Meg Sylvan who does Rory's chapters. It gets weird fast, and stays weird. A bit better teamwork between the two narraraters would have made for a much better performance and a better audiobook. It seems like chapters were assigned one narrator or the other, causing the same character's voice to be performed differently by both.
I'm not quite at the point where I'll avoid books by these narrators, but I'll definitely consider them a second time and probably prioritize other audiobooks first.

Summary:
A slow moving, decent bully reverse harem. It isn't sweet. The guys aren't terribly likeable, nor is our female lead. On the other hand, I sat through almost 33 hours of this, so it wasn't horrible. I didn't request a refund, even having seeing how whiney the voices are. A good book to have going in the background while doing something else since even if you miss a few minutes, then aren't missing too much. Ends on cliffhangers despite continuing for 33 hours. Not sure how the rest of the series goes and actually... I don't really feel an urge to listen to it right now. I just don't feel invested enough in the characters to want to sit through the whiney slow voices for another 30+ hours to find out how it goes. I think I'll save my credits for something different rather than more of the same.
