Nizzy Khan, LPC, LMFT, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, educator, speaker, and author dedicated to making mental health accessible, practical, and culturally relevant. Through her private practice, Seek Inner Peace Therapy in Houston, Texas, she helps individuals, couples, and families navigate relationship challenges, trauma, grief, anxiety, and life's many transitions. Originally from Pakistan, Nizzy's journey embodies resilience, perseverance, and the pursuit of the American dream. She arrived in the United States with one suitcase and began rebuilding her life from a one-bedroom apartment while balancing the responsibilities of motherhood, work, and higher education. Like many immigrants, she experienced the challenges of adapting to a new culture, overcoming employment barriers, and creating opportunities through determination and education. Driven by a lifelong passion for learning, Nizzy earned master's degrees in English as a Second Language (ESOL) and Educational Administration before spending several years teaching students across multiple grade levels in public schools. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she followed a deeper calling by returning to graduate school to pursue a career in mental health, ultimately becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Beyond her private practice, Nizzy volunteers with Shifa Healthcare, providing free counseling services to underserved individuals and survivors of domestic violence. She believes that compassionate, quality mental health care should be available to everyone, regardless of their circumstances. As both an educator and therapist, Nizzy is passionate about translating complex psychological concepts into clear, relatable language. Her books empower readers to better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and embrace emotional growth with confidence. She is the author of Inside the Therapy Room and is developing additional books on relationships, emotional well-being, and personal growth, along with a children's history series designed to help young readers connect with the rich heritage of the Indian subcontinent. Whether she is counseling clients, writing books, or speaking to communities, Nizzy's mission is simple: to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, strengthen families, and inspire people to live with greater self-awareness, resilience, and hope.
