After quitting her job as a therapist, Tess's life became pretty slow. A tad boring, even. It thus came as no small shock to her when she was chosen by a god. Walter survived! Sure, he's grown a couple extra tentacles and gained a few creepy titles, but he's made it to the Main Stage of the trials with both hands and feelers intact. In fact, he's now a founding member of the regressor's Abyss Guild, and his mind-reading AI, Noe, is upgrading quite nicely as well. Life's looking up for the fledgling eldritch horror—that is, until his meeting with the ominous Central Overseer.

After a freak accident in the barren wilderness of the Australian outback, he finds himself confronted with the true meaning of the term. They know they will need one eye open for treachery hangs upon the edge of every path Gideon can see. The cost will be higher than he'd ever want or choose. People were going to die, it was inevitable.

When the Alpha Particle was created, Daniel was in a hotel and there were insufficient interfaces for him to receive one. This would usually result in Sapient Deconstruction, but Ivey saved him by gifting part of her interface. It allowed Daniel to keep his sanity. Via morse code they were made aware that there was a small group of survivors on the top floor who were in a stalemate with a deadly monster.

Meanwhile, her best-friend-slash-long-time-crush, Susan, is stranded on a brutalized and war-torn Earth as a ghostly awakened soul. As the end times near, there's only one thing left for them both to do: stop Adonai, the ultimate angel, from remaking all existence in his own twisted and horrific image.

After successfully completing his objective inside the house in South Carolina, the transformed soul of serial killer Clive Logan was randomly transported to another location as his reward. Something about the new house he found himself in was quite different, however; whereas the Spirit Core had previously “haunted” a house filled with only adult targets, two children that apparently lived in the new location - a young boy and a slightly older girl - were thrown into the mix.
