I always figured I’d eventually get killed in my line of work. I just assumed I’d stay dead at that point. I was the one people hired to do the killing, after all. I knew a thing or two about how death worked. So when I was finally taken down during a high-profile hit, I was ready to embrace death with open arms. Except I didn’t fully die. Not yet, at least.
