After years away, Ludger returns to the capital for business deals that could strengthen the Lionsguard and House Torvares. What should be a political and commercial trip soon turns into something bigger when his first international mission drags him into a dangerous conspiracy. Not the obvious...

Ludger was supposed to be just another forgotten soul, reborn into a quiet life under the care of his young mother, Elaine. With nothing but a mysterious system in his vision and the faint promise of growth, he resigned himself to learning the humble trade of cooking. Knives, fire, seasoning—his skills grew sharper than his years, but it wasn’t the power-fantasy adventure he once dreamed of. That is, until one reckless night in the tavern, when a hooded mage and a simple spell shattered the illusion of normalcy forever.

With Gaius Stonefist's help, Ludger finally finishes the stone bridge. The moment it's done, he pushes forward and reaches the runic golems labyrinth… but the road to it is already trying to kill him. Along the way, a giant sea monster rises and nearly tears the Ironhand Guild's fleet apart, turning a "professional expedition" into a desperate scramble for survival. An invitation to the capital. A business proposal. Something that could be enormously beneficial… or a trap dressed in silk.

While barbarians were getting ready to continue the invasion, adults argued and soldiers postured, Ludger with a system in his eyes realized something far more unsettling: if trouble kept coming time and time again, someone would have to meet it head-on. That decision dragged him far from home and straight into the tutelage of a shameless drunkard, an earth mage whose greatest talents were leveling mountains and emptying bottles. Unfortunately for Ludger, the man was also a former guildmaster.

In Lionfang, Ludger sees the pattern the System won’t let him ignore: trouble never stops coming. So he does what no sensible kid should, he starts building something meant to outlast panic. The Lionsguard guild begins as a hard, practical answer to chaos. Not a tavern guild chasing glory, but an organization that feeds, houses, and trains its people. Word spreads. Coin follows. The guild grows—contract by contract, stone by stone, into the closest thing the frontier has to stability. Then a letter arrives that can’t be ignored.
