Rachel, a junior assistant in the cargo bay, never imagined the spaceship’s AI would gain awareness during what should have been a routine update, nor had anyone expected it to take exception to the crew and the crates of illegal cargo aboard.

When Jennisa delivers a spaceship database to a suspicious group, she covertly takes a copy of the group’s files. She gets far more than she bargained for when the young spaceship AI hitches a ride and figures out how to use her Bluetooth implant to communicate with her. To further complicate matters, the AI finds her work absolutely fascinating and wants nothing to do with the suspicious group—and they aren’t happy about that…

Die Kristalle wurden durch einen Sieg der Republik momentan aufgehalten, obwohl der Blutzoll enorm war, während die Opters weiterhin in einem erschreckenden Tempo schwach verteidigte Systeme erobern. Strecher und Engels müssen neue Technologien entwickeln und verzweifelte Maßnahmen ergreifen, um die außerirdische Bedrohung aufzuhalten.
