Between 1947 and 1957, Ealing Studios produced a series of immensely popular, darkly funny film comedies that made the West London borough famous throughout the world. Almost 50 years later, four of these timeless films were recreated for BBC Radio 4, and are now collected together for the first time.

No sooner do we achieve a major goal in life than another immediately presents itself – leaving us in a perpetual chase after contentment. Above the jeers, however, there rises the sweet strains of a hopeful song. The voice is familiar.

We know about the people who are mentioned in the Bible, but what about other people who aren’t mentioned? Jesus reached many in his short time here on Earth, healing not just their bodies but also their hearts.
