Under the arches of Ailing Cathedral six girls with no names are raised to see things that other people cannot see. These girls are called Diviners. They are like containers that hold signs from the future. They have to follow rituals and they are hidden from the rest of the world. People are scared of them because they tell the truth. One of the girls does not belong with the others. She does not remember where she came from. She does not know her name or what her life was like before. All she remembers is the feeling of water and the sense that something very old is watching her.

Story0
This book consists of fifty-two Sections, fifty of which were written for ‘The Sunday School Times’ in comment upon the International Lessons of 1909. Each is complete in itself; but the subjects were chosen so as to work together into a series of typical pictures of the life, the teaching, and the development of the early Church. The growth of the Church was determined by progressive revelation to the earliest Christians through the indwelling Spirit, and by clearer comprehension on their part of the Divine purpose. Perception of this principle guided Luke in selecting and grouping the ...

Story0
William (Billy) Mitchell was a U.S. Army officer who, during World War I, came to command all U.S. Army air operations in France. He became a strong believer in air power and predicted that in the next war, bombers would be the decisive weapon. After WWI ended he became a forceful advocate for allocating funds to develop a powerful U.S. Air Force as an independent military branch. At the same time he argued for reducing the Navy's heavy spending on battleships, which he was convinced would be easily sunk by enemy aircraft. His efforts to change military policy in these areas became so ...

Story0
William "Billy" Lendrum Mitchell was a United States Army officer, regarded as the father of the United States Air Force. After serving in France during World War I, Mitchell was appointed deputy director of the Air Service, calling for increased investment in air power which he believed would be vital in future wars. His advocacy antagonized leaders of the US Army and Navy. However, Mitchell demonstrated through a series of Air Force bombing exercises conducted against Naval ships in 1921 and 1923 that his ideas on the superiority of airpower were indeed correct.

This insightful book presents fifty-two distinct sections, fifty of which were originally crafted for ‘The Sunday School Times’ as reflections on the International Lessons of 1909. Each section stands alone, yet together they weave a rich tapestry of the early Churchs life, teachings, and evolution. The Churchs growth was shaped by progressive revelation experienced by its earliest followers through the indwelling Spirit and their deepening understanding of the Divine purpose. William (Billy) Mitchell was a visionary U.S. Army officer who commanded all American air operations in France during World War I. A staunch advocate for the power of air warfare, he foresaw a future where bombers would be the pivotal weapon in conflicts. His relentless pursuit of reform led to a significant clash ...
