This is the sequel to Stories from Texas - some of them are true. The first book contained 70 Texcentric stories about Texas history and culture, famous Texans, and iconic brands. This volume continues these themes with 70 new stories that celebrate the beautiful and diverse histories of the lone star state and its peoples. Narrated by W. F. Strong.

Stories from Texas are written for and recorded for the Texas Standard radio program. They’re written by W.F Strong and edited for broadcast by Texas Standard producers.

As I already have a podcast produced by the Texas Standard, Stories from Texas, I wanted to launch a new one that would go beyond the limits of where my stories are typically corralled. I'm calling it Beyond Texas so that I can share the many inspirational and astounding stories I know that don't fit the theme I'm most known for. Here you will get me, for better or worse, unabridged.

You might call W.F. Strong a student of all things Texas. In 2010, he began sharing his 'Stories From Texas' vignettes on public radio stations, most recently on the Texas Standard news show's 30 stations. For this book celebrating his home state, Strong has collected 75 of his broadcasts. You'll hear his inimitably Texan voice in your mind's ear as he weaves stories on subjects ranging from how to ''talk Texan'' to Texas bards and troubadours; from tall Texas tales to Lone Star icons like Charles Goodnight, Tom Landry and Blue Bell ice cream, and much more.
