Our podcast includes episodes of KPFA Radio shows as well as station updates and donor highlights. KPFA is a community powered radio station that creates and curates a unique mix of music, informed public affairs, culture, and news. Since 1949, KPFA has investigated the contemporary intersections of class, race, distribution of wealth and it’s affects on the citizens of our Northern and Central California coverage area.

The Pacifica Evening News is a collaboration of KPFA and KPFK in Los Angeles and KFCF in Fresno. The hour-long newscast airs on all three stations each weeknight at 6:00 PM. KPFA News broadcasts news headlines throughout the day at 5:55, 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, 10:00, 12:00 and 4:00. Comprehensive coverage of the day’s news with a focus on war and peace; social, environmental and economic justice.

Themed mixes are made live and spontaneously on the air from a variety of formats and equipment. There is a plan and there is no plan. The mix consists of found sound of many kinds and from many sources, old and new, put together on the run as the continuous audio collage continues. Suspense is a new version of the classic radio anthology series by the same name; the original ran on CBS Radio from 1942-1962, and featured a who’s-who of Hollywood talent. The scripts are an equal mix of originals and adaptations, performed by a growing company of Hollywood actors that include Adrienne Wilkinson (‘Xena’); Tucker Smallwood (‘Contact’); Elizabeth Gracen (‘Highlander’); and master voiceover artist Daamen Krall, who’s also the show’s host.
