Virginia Marion Halas McCaskey, born in 1923 in Chicago, became the principal owner of the Chicago Bears after her father, George Halas, passed away in 1983. She was a pioneering woman in the NFL, overseeing the Bears' Super Bowl XX victory in 1986 and championing community outreach through the Bears Care initiative. A devout Catholic and dedicated philanthropist, McCaskey was known for her humility, resilience, and passion for football.
