In the aftermath of the end of her world, April Tate decides that it's high time to leave the city that never sleeps, Las Vegas. After learning the origins of a Zompire Plague remedy, she risks her life to steal the antidote, makes the decision to separate from Jeremy for a while, and joins a small band of new and old comrades on a trip to the Pacific Coast. There they search out a legendary hive of vampires who are more than just wild, blood drinking creatures.

As the last word of Rye’s question left his mouth, Will’s eyes refocused on him. His lips curled back, showing off gore-encrusted canines stretching at least three quarters of an inch farther than the rest of his teeth. The following snarl, and his red irises, gave no indication that he knew who they were. The moment he lunged, both men pointed their guns in his direction, screaming for him to stop.

As the first days of the end of humanity tumble across the city of Las Vegas in the form of an overwhelming viral infection, turning almost everyone into vampire-like creatures, April Tate will find out what it really means to survive. What does it take to make it out alive in a place where everything is but a withered echo of its former self and death does not come willingly?

These are good people who have committed a horrendous crime, such as murder. What makes their cases special, however, is the fact that by committing these egregious acts, one could argue that they have made the world a better place.

In a post-apocalyptic world, a viral epidemic has wiped out most of the earth’s population, leaving behind few humans but untold numbers of mutated vampires. April is a seventeen-year-old girl who lives in the remains of Las Vegas one year after the outbreak.

April is on cusp of distributing a successful treatment for the vampiric virus which decimated the world's population. When she's betrayed by those she trusts the most, she's forced to flee her home in Las Vegas. Now, she must depend on a stranger she just met who shares the same rare mutation as her. She can't trust anyone. The vampire hive was her sanctuary, but now, their leader hides an unspeakable horror with far more sinister consequences than anyone could've imagined, especially when it involves April's unusual abilities.
