A visit to the Elven Bureau of Investigation reveals that they are still looking for a list of the Beandom’s most wanted. However, when he agrees to help, he confronts the Needler–a man who can bring people to their knees with his words. To vanquish this formidable foe, Sir Roderick makes a wish at a cursed wishing well to give him the power to resist the Needler’s attacks, with no idea how steep of a price the well requires.

The wizard Jackdaw has deciphered the Uppercase Prophecy, a mysterious riddle that foretells the fate of the kingdom. After reading it, he finds out that the kingdom's only hope lies in…someone. With part of the prophecy missing, it's not clear whether the kingdom’s only hope lies in a gallant knight or in a sub-assistant goatherd with a similar name.
