A hundred millennia has passed since the events of Iron Gods. The Spin is dying, and its few inhabitants live unknowingly in the relative paradise of one of hundreds of virtual realities - "vrealities" - or they scrape a living out of remains of the real world. As the vrealities drain the last resources of the Spin, a rebellion which could kill millions sparks and gains momentum. In a remote star system, an ancient insectoid called Skarbo the Horologist has studied The Spin for several lifetimes. Himself near to death, he makes a final journey to see the object of his studies.

W. F. Harvey (1885-1937) was a prolific writer of short tales of the macabre and the strange, best known for the classic horror tale "The Beast With Five Fingers". "The Clock" also sees Harvey exploring the supernatural, with an eerie tale of an unexpected and unwelcome tenant in a deserted house.

The story is inspired by real dreams and a variety of moments in life that remained to vivid to forget. It is a Mythical Fictional Story of Crystal Powers and the Origin of Time. For Lena, in her dreams, sometimes she would touch the surface of the crystal and time would stop. It allowed her to go anywhere and only she was moving. In the story, the dreams continued and became a passion of hers to try and understand what the meaning of these dreams were.

Her only hope for survival is to find her own roots...The Collapse is imminent, and Rosie’s stuck in the present day where she will be swept away by an apocalyptic ice melt. Since Carlos is by her side, she’s not panicking...yet. Instead, she focuses on finding the teenage girl in Seattle who will become her grandmother. Rosie’s teenage grandmother is wealthy, privileged, and might have the means to help them travel back home to the future. But finding her grandmother isn’t easy, especially since Carlos thinks they’re being followed.
