Paul W. Fairman (1916-1977) was the author of not one - but two stories for science fiction magazines that were later purchased and transformed into classic 1950s drive-in theater horror fare. Oddly both tales were published in the same year, 1953, two months apart. The first, "Deadly City" appeared in the March 1953 issue of Worlds of If, under Fairman's "Ivar Jorgensen" pseudonym; and was filmed as Target Earth (1954).

Orson Welles both starred in and directed The Campbell Playhouse, a radio drama (1938-40) produced by Welles and John Houseman. The episodes include adaptions of classic novels and plays, as well as radio versions of the era's popular films.

Kanske var Ken, min vackra, kalla, sifferälskande man helt enkelt inte kapabel till den typ av passion jag ville ha. Mina ex har alla varit lika tatuerade och testosterondrivna som männen i mina älskade kärleksromaner, och om jag inte kunde få den typen av passion igen i verkligheten kunde jag åtminstone skriva om det. Ingen skulle ju någonsin få veta. Gissa vad? Min man läste. Och inte bara det. Det väckte honom till liv.
