Naturally, the Cubans have beaten everyone else, and the island is beginning to change. Aircraft flying reconnaissance are swatted from the skies.

A particle physicist devastated by the loss of his wife from a recent car accident believes he can get her back by using a newly discovered element that appears to have time travel abilities. His plan is to use the element to go back in time to the day of his wife's accident and do something to prevent it. The problem is that he keeps failing to reach the day of his wife's accident because he needs more electron volt energy.
