Human, Animal is an ode to the wild, an elegy for what we have lost and a reproof of our society's inability to find common ground. La satira classica della rivoluzione russa di George Orwell è una parte intima della nostra cultura contemporanea, citata così spesso che tendiamo a dimenticare chi ha scritto le parole originali. È un resoconto della coraggiosa lotta che trasforma la fattoria terriera del signor Jones in fattoria degli animali, una società interamente democratica costruita sul credo che tutti gli animali sono creati uguali. Per intelligenza, i maiali Napoleone, Squealer e Palla di neve emergono come leader della nuova comunità in una sottile evoluzione che porta una insidiosa familiarità.

"La fattoria degli animali" voleva essere, nelle intenzioni dell'autore, una realistica allegoria della Russia Sovietica, dominata da Stalin. La cacciata dell'uomo avrebbe dovuto portare tra gli animali della fattoria liberata alla realizzazione di quei valori di egualitarismo, fratellanza e libertà che sono il manifesto ideologico dell'illuminismo e da cui hanno tratto la loro origine marxismo, socialismo, comunismo. Nel libro viene ben rappresentato come nella realtà la salita al potere da parte dei nuovi suonatori non determinerà affatto il cambiamento della musica, tutt'altro.

Imagínate una granja donde los animales, cansados de la opresión humana, se rebelan buscando igualdad y libertad... "Rebelión en la Granja" es una alegoría política que satiriza la Revolución Rusa de 1917 y los acontecimientos posteriores en la Unión Soviética.

En la ficción de la novela un grupo de animales de una granja expulsa a los humanos tiranos y crean un sistema de gobierno propio que acaba convirtiéndose en otra tiranía brutal. Orwell, un socialista democrático y durante muchos años un miembro del Partido Laborista Independiente, se posicionó con obras como Rebelión en la granja y 1984 contra el totalitarismo tanto nazi como soviético.
