When We Fight, They Win isn’t another partisan book pointing fingers at “the other side.” It’s not about proving one party right and the other wrong. It’s about something far bigger—and far more urgent. For decades, Americans have been told to pick a side, blame a side, and fight that side. Meanwhile, both parties, politicians, donors, and media industries profit from keeping us divided. The truth? Division makes America weaker. Unity—real unity—is the only way we reclaim our power as citizens.

To put it plainly then: the vast majority of people tasked with creating our media simply lack the sensibilities that have always driven artistic innovation. Steal as Much as You Can is the story of how this bright generation came to be, and what effective means are still at their disposal to challenge the establishment and ultimately win. By rejecting the established routines of achieving prosperity, and by stealing what you can from them on the way, this audiobook offers hope to anyone who feels increasingly frustrated by our increasingly unequal society.

Unite and Win: A Guide to Workplace Organizing is a 13-part podcast series by the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (EWOC), produced in partnership with Haymarket Books. This podcast is split up into two parts: an audiobook version of EWOC’s “Unite & Win” handbook and discussions with labor organizers across industries moderated by labor journalist and author Kim Kelly. These discussion episodes use real-world examples to illustrate the themes we raise in the handbook, including just how much a union can help us accomplish when we come together and *fight*.

The Economics of Belonging argues that we should step back and take a fresh look at the root causes of our current challenges. In this original, engaging book, Martin Sandbu argues that economics remains at the heart of our widening inequality and it is only by focusing on the right policies that we can address it. He proposes a detailed, radical plan for creating a just economy where everyone can belong. Sandbu demonstrates that the rising numbers of the left behind are not due to globalization gone too far.

In a win-win action, both parties win, and a common victory is greater than it is ever possible to achieve alone. There is no upper boundary to how good the results that are possible to achieve together, compared to pursuing one's own advantage. Real win-win thinking is never a game against the other party, from which all game theoretical solutions look to start, but involves cooperation with all the players.

Primed reveals the five underlying candidate narratives for winning a party’s nomination to stand in a general election. In fiction, the idea that there are a limited number of original basic plots and character archetypes is well known. In politics, it’s generally accepted that a brilliant narrative is a fundamental aspect of a persuasive election campaign. But nobody has developed a universal way of applying classic storytelling principles to primary election campaigns - until now.

After winning the war for independence from Great Britain, the 13 adopted the Articles of Confederation as their system of government. However, the Articles proved to be ineffective, and only a few short years after gaining its independence, the young country was headed for fracture and failure. In the summer of 1787, 12 of the states (Rhode Island excepted) sent delegates to Philadelphia in a last-ditch effort to fix the Articles. But it soon became clear that the problems facing the young country were too great for the Articles of Confederation to address, even in an amended form.

Since 9/11, why have we won smashing battlefield victories only to botch nearly everything that comes next? In the opening phases of war in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya, we mopped the floor with our enemies. But in short order, things went horribly wrong. We soon discovered we had no coherent plan to manage the "day after". The ensuing debacles had truly staggering consequences - many thousands of lives lost, trillions of dollars squandered, and the apparent discrediting of our foreign policy establishment.

Beginning in January 2009, The Payoff lays bare Washington’s culture of power and plutocracy. It’s the story of the 20-month struggle by Senator Ted Kaufman and Jeff Connaughton, his chief of staff, to hold Wall Street executives accountable for securities fraud, stop stock manipulation by high-frequency traders, and break up too-big-to-fail megabanks. This book takes us inside their dogged crusade against institutional inertia and industry influence as they encounter an outright reluctance.
