A self-centered healer, Stephen Strange is arrogant, but it's almost justified. After all, he is one of the best surgeons in the country. However, that all takes a dark turn following a horrific car crash. The doctor survives but at a great cost: his hands are irreparably damaged, and he can no longer perform surgery. No doctor can help him. Nor can faith healers or gurus. Nearing the end of his rope, he seeks out mystic help from the Ancient One, a man rumoured to possess unearthly talents.

As Grand City's newest hero, Dr. Fizz Junior, Dave Murphy is a bit out of his element. Luckily, he has his friends and the "Original Dr. Fizz", Baxter Whitehead, around to help show him the ropes.

It's a story as old as time. Boy likes girl. Girl will only date...a superhero. And unfortunately for Dave Murphy, Grand City is chock full of superheroes. In fact, in Grand City ANYONE can be a superhero, which gives Dave an idea. The plan was simple: Pretend to be a hero and save the girl from a fake mugging. Live happily ever after. The plan was foolproof, nothing could possibly go wrong, even with Dave choosing his temporary superhero name from an empty, discarded soda can. The one named after a retired superhero...who finds out someone is impersonating him...soiling his good name.
