Broke and not getting any younger, Max Bowman has officially hit bottom. Dogged by trolls and an angry ex, he flees to California, where he ends up running a detective agency with a dead man's name on it. That's when a new client who's not quite right in the head shows up because he thinks the government is breaking into his apartment to move food around in his refrigerator. It's also when zombie assassins start showing up wherever Max goes, killing everyone on site except him. But wait, there's more!

The year is 2036. The place, a rapidly decaying, totally (baked) Big Apple, New York City. Brainsm along with a few of his family, his best friend, Gil and three very orthodox Rabbis, have so far managed to survive the plague to end all plagues; by holding up inside the protected walls of what once not long ago was his families former Jewish delicatessen. On this day of days, Brains is determined to brave the dangers of zombies, street gangs, and other predators of the four-legged variety.
