Sir Peter Shaffer was one of the most distinguished and successful British playwrights of his generation. He won the Tony Award for both Amadeus and Equus, and the film adaptation of Amadeus garnered eight Oscars. In 1997, he was awarded an OBE, and he was knighted in the 2001 New Year honours list. This collection contains his best-known plays and a monologue specially written for radio, first broadcast in 1989.

This volume, the second volume of a two-volume set, contains over 125 letters written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart from 1781-1791. It has been translated by Lady Wallace from the collection of Ludwig Nohl. He has provided short introductions to several sections of this volume as well as a description of Mozart's death at the conclusion of the volume. The date of his death in the final Note is incorrectly given as November 5 rather than December 5. (Summary by mkirkpat)
