In February of 1993, 2-year-old James Bulger disappears from a busy shopping plaza called The Bootle Strand. Video surveillance later shows little James being led away by two young boys. Then, two days later. a mother's worst nightmare is realized.

In the winter of 2002, two bright young girls, Ashley Pond and Miranda Gaddis, vanished months apart on their way to the same school bus stop.

As days turned into months, the truth that emerged was darker than anyone imagined.
