About this listen

Raising emotionally intelligent children is more important than ever — and for many moms, it starts with the emotional work we’re doing inside ourselves.

In a world where kids are navigating big emotions, constant stimulation, and increasing disconnection, moms are asking how to raise emotionally intelligent children — children who can understand their feelings, regulate their emotions, build empathy, and stay connected to themselves and others. What often gets overlooked is this: motherhood is one of the most powerful times we grow our own emotional intelligence, too.

I’m Heidi — a therapist, a single mom by choice of two young children, and a human who believes emotional growth happens in real life, not in perfection.

On this podcast, I share honest stories from motherhood — the moments that challenge me, soften me, frustrate me, and slowly change me. Through these real-life stories, we explore what it actually looks like for moms to develop emotional intelligence in ourselves so we can nurture it in our children.

This isn’t a podcast about parenting techniques or doing it “right.”
It’s about emotional awareness, nervous system regulation, repair after conflict, breaking generational cycles, and growing alongside our kids with compassion and honesty.

You’ll hear reflections on anger, shame, emotional regulation, connection, and healing — along with occasional grounding practices and guided meditations created especially for moms raising young children.

If you’re a mom looking for a parenting podcast about emotional intelligence — one that blends therapy-informed insight with real, relatable motherhood stories — you’re in the right place.

This is how we grow ourselves as moms.
This is how we raise emotionally intelligent children.
This is how we raise a more emotionally intelligent world — together.
