  • Does Menopause Cause Divorce?
    May 6 2026

First, they blamed our periods. Now they’re blaming our menopause. They’ve even coined a new term: Menodivorce.

Join Coach Kristy Lynn as she argues that blaming menopause for rising divorce rates among those 50 and older is ridiculous. She acknowledges that while overall divorce rates are dropping, divorces among those 50+ did rise from nearly 10% in 1990 to over 25% in 2019, but she attributes that to expanded legal and economic options and changing cultural expectations, not hormones.

She reviews cultural history of women’s economic oppression, marital rape legality, and past psychiatric institutionalization for “menopause insanity,” plus the shift enabled by no-fault divorce, noting these factors shaped women’s ability to leave.

She makes the case for menopause acting as a catalyst that unmasks long-ignored issues in health, careers, and relationships and cites other common drivers like men’s midlife crises and divorces for asset protection during illness as alternative contributors to the increase in divorce rates.

  • Health Span, Strength Span, and Lifespan
    Apr 29 2026

    Aging Well Through Menopause

Coach Kristy Lynn discusses three aging metric; lifespan (how long you live), health span (how well you live), and strength span (how independently you live), as well as how menopause can affect all three through estrogen decline, accelerating muscle loss, bone density decreases, and metabolic changes that impact daily functioning.

Using 2024 data from the CDC, she notes the average US female life expectancy is 81.4 years (85.7 if reaching 65), yet many face chronic disease or disability by 65, potentially spending decades with declining quality of life, especially since strength loss begins in the forties. She emphasizes lifestyle influence, prioritizing strength training 2-3 times weekly and increasing dietary fiber and urges listeners to consider other wellness dimensions (finances, environment, time/social connection, and spirituality/creativity) because living longer matters most when living well.

  • Embracing Your Elder Era
    Apr 22 2026

Perimenopause doesn't just change your hormones, it changes you. And for many of us, that shift quietly ignites a question they've been afraid to ask: What if I started over?

In this episode, Coach Kristy Lynn explores what it means to enter your Elder Era. Spoiler alert, it’s not a specific age or milestone, but a mindset shift that happens when you stop trying to recapture your 20s and start building a life you're actually passionate about living.

Through her own story of going back to school mid-life (and mid-podcast launch), Kristy makes the case that menopause isn't the end of anything. It might just be the nudge you need.

If you've been daydreaming about a different life but are plagued by doubts, this one's for you.
