• The Double Tax: Code-Switching, Freedom, and True Collective Care
    Jun 19 2026

this juneteenth, we're talking about freedom in a way that doesn't always make it into the history books.

what happens when you're black and queer and constantly navigating spaces that ask you to shrink one part of yourself to make room for another

what happens when belonging comes with conditions

when acceptance feels more like tolerance

when you've spent so much time reading the room that you forget to read yourself

in this episode of soft landings, we're unpacking identity, authenticity, ancestry, and the quiet labor of shape shifting. we're talking about the freedom to exist without explanation and the radical act of bringing your whole self into every room you enter.

because you do not have to choose between your blackness and your queerness.

you do not have to split yourself into pieces for other people's comfort.

you are the whole damn room.

  • Communication Isn’t Confrontation. It’s Connection.
    May 15 2026

i had to live this one before i could speak it.

in this episode, we’re peeling back the layers on communication. not the polished, casual social media version—but the real version. the version that asks you to stay emotionally in the room when your feelings are activated, and forces you to realize that love and understanding do not always arrive at the exact same time.

i'm sharing some raw, real-time friction from my own life—from navigating the toxicity of assumptions to facing the ways i used to treat discomfort like danger. trust cannot survive where communication is dying. let’s take off the bubble wrap, put down the defenses, and learn how to find our frequency together.

grab your tea. join me in the refuge. we finally landed, and it's soft.

  • honesty is the only way to land softly.
    May 1 2026

if you hear the birds in the background today it is because i am sitting outside with my thoughts. i needed the fresh air to get this truth out.

for a long time i thought healing was something that happened to me. i thought i could just wait for the world to get easier so i could finally relax. but the deeper i go the more i realize that softness is not a gift. it is a result.

you cannot land softly on a foundation of lies. you cannot feel the peace you are looking for if you are still performing a version of yourself that does not exist.

we are talking about how honesty is the only thing that actually melts the armor. we are talking about how being the chief operating officer of my household made me hard. and how finally telling the truth about my own needs is the only thing that allowed me to finally soften.

sit with me outside for a minute while we get real about the work. because once you start becoming honest with yourself. that is when the soft landing actually begins.

thank you for being here in the refuge.

  • I Didn’t Lose My Faith. I Lost My Fear.
    Apr 17 2026

We often mistake a shift in perspective for a loss of conviction. But what if the thing you actually walked away from wasn't your foundation? In this episode, we explore the liberating reality of shedding old anxieties to make room for a deeper, more authentic truth. I didn't lose my faith. I lost my fear.

  • You Don’t Miss Them, You Miss Who You Were Allowed To Be
    Apr 9 2026

You don’t miss them. You miss who you were allowed to be. The softer, freer version of yourself that existed in their presence. In this episode we explore heartbreak as more than loss of a person. It’s the quiet grief of reclaiming yourself and the permission to show up fully.
