  • Turning Pain Into Purpose, Through The Remnant Generation
    Jan 13 2026

January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, and this issue spans the globe: In the East African country of Uganda, for example, statistics show that 1 in 4 girls will experience sexual abuse before age 18. Native to Uganda and a victim herself at age 13, Annabelle Nakabiri eventually turned that pain into purpose by founding The Remnant Generation, a faith-based ministry dedicated to the healing, restoration and empowerment of sexual abuse survivors and teen mothers. Since 2015, Annabelle and her organization have impacted the lives of over 11,000 young women and girls in crisis situations, providing counseling and safety, as well as access to education, healthcare and job training. Today, in conversation with Ozinga CEO Marty Ozinga, Annabelle details The Remnant Generation's holistic transformation model, and how you can support their vision.

  • Built for Joy: How the Merry Mixer Delivers Holiday Cheer
    Dec 16 2025

In the spirit of Christmas, we learn more this episode about The Merry Mixer — Ozinga's decommissioned ready-mix truck turned parade float -- that brings joy to thousands each holiday season.

Covered in more than 32,000 programmed lights with dazzling animations, and a sound system packed with yuletide hits, the Merry Mixer appears at parades, children's hospitals, senior centers and more, all to deliver on our purpose statement: To make a positive impact on individuals, their families and the community for generations.

But what is the history of the Merry Mixer, and what (or who) makes it go? We'll get that, and more, from our Ozinga co-workers this week — multimedia communications manager Brendan O'Morrow, dispatcher Al Aardsma and multimedia producer Albert Aardsma.

  • A Fan-Forward Mindset for Northwestern's New Ryan Field
    Dec 4 2025

The Ryan family's roots at Northwestern University go back seven decades, and their latest show of support for their alma mater is helping fund the first stadium of its kind in college football. Thanks to an $850 million pro-bono private family investment, the new Ryan Field (set to open in Fall 2026) is the biggest stadium construction in Chicagoland to date, with innovations in accessibility, sight lines and year-round amenities.

This week, Ozinga CEO Marty Ozinga goes on location to Northwestern to view and discuss the project with Pat Ryan, Jr. — CEO of Ryan Sports Development — and to examine what led to this extraordinary undertaking, as well as how Ozinga is assisting in re-imagining the spectator experience. View footage of our video walking tour of the Ryan Field construction at ozinga.com/podcasts.
