About this listen

Please note: this series contains adult themes, explicit language and references to child abuse and suicide. Listener discretion is advised.

It started with an anonymous post in 2017. They called themselves 'Q' and left a trail of cryptic messages for an increasing number of followers to obsess over. Over the years, the conspiracy theory became a movement, crashing into mainstream politics and breaking countless families along the way.

Over this investigation, journalist Nicky Woolf dives into the online and offline world of QAnon in his search to find the shadowy figure behind it all and the legacy they've created.

Gripping, tense, enlightening. Brilliantly produced. Other podcasts have dabbled with the subject matter (e.g. Reply All, This American Life), but this dives deep into the crazy world of the Qanon Conspiracy. Worth every second of your time

Brilliant

My wife and I have been listening to this as we were driving around on holiday and it's been great! It's a very interesting story, it sometimes goes a bit off piste - but it's always a good listen - recommend it

Really liked it

I could not stop listening gripping throughout a very good piece of journalism
and a story that must be told It needs to be the next podcast you listen to

Grabs hold of you from start to finish

Very useful to help understand the crazy new world that has sprung out of QAnon. Us normies need to defend ourselves against our own susceptibility to believe absolute shite.

Very useful.

This is a really engaging and interesting pod series and is very bingeable but it does tail off in the last few eps and the end is a bit disappointing. It was all very listenable but the actual quest for Q ends up being a bit surpurflous and large leaps are taken when the interesting stuff is around it. Definitely worth a listen just could have been really great.

Really interesting but tails off

Very good and engaging description of conspiracy theories.

First half was very interesting, but second half was too slow and with too much filling material, not really relevant to the story. Anyway, would still recommend to listen at least to the first half.

Good explanation how conspiracy theories form

You haven’t, Nicky Woolf conducts his own research, interviews key suspects, pulls together all of the loose threads.

It’s still shocking to hear how people have been hoodwinked by one person’s vague predictions that ultimately lead to January 6th.

Important listening for sure.

Regarding the listener who said they’d heard it all before

Loved the way in which all stories interconnect and the way in which new people are introduced to the point where you are fully invested in knowing the truth. The sound design, the quality of the performances and the level of production is top. I was left wanting more.

Captivating. Well produced. Well written

Very well produced if a little flabby in places but any criticism is a little petty considering how much I enjoyed this. Nicky Woolf's familiarity with 'chan' culture really helps to understand the origins of the conspiracy.

Fascinating journey through Q-Anon's history

Very insightful exploration of the QAnon conspiracy theory, going into great detail of some of the technical details of how you know the Q drops were really all from Q as well as the human stories of its victims. The slightly eccentric audio production and music does not detract from this 5 star podcast.

Absolutely excellent
