Dance and Community l This week we're looking back at Dan's 10 year teaching anniversary at Ceroc Derby, one of the most memorable nights we've ever had at Ceroc Inspire.

We talk about the surprises, the celebrations and why it meant so much to see former dancers return just to celebrate with Dan, proving that once you're part of a dance community, you're never really gone.

We also chat with Lyndsey Hill from Ceroc HQ about her upcoming SILC Foundations Workshop with Tim Stevens at Ceroc Derby and why learning to dance to slower music can transform your dancing.

If you'd like to join us at the workshop or simply enjoy hearing stories from the world of Ceroc and social dancing, we hope you'll enjoy this episode.

  • Dance and Community: Its not just about the Numbers
    Jun 14 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Dance and community come together as Liz and Mark talk about what really makes a great Ceroc night. Is it the number of people in the room, or is it the music, atmosphere, smiles, space to dance and the feeling dancers take home?

After recent events including Bubbles and Bowties, Rhythm Fusion and the lovely Ashbourne class night where dancers stayed chatting long after closing, this episode explores why numbers do not always tell the full story.

Liz and Mark discuss why dancers sometimes judge a night too quickly, how people arrive at different times, why smaller nights can still feel amazing and why a packed dance floor is not always the best measure of success.

A relaxed conversation about dance, community, music, atmosphere and what really makes a Ceroc Inspire night memorable.

  • It’s Never Just a Dance: Ceroc Etiquette, Confidence and Community
    May 31 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

A recent post about dance etiquette sparked one of the biggest conversations we have had in the Ceroc Inspire community.

What began as a simple reminder about asking people to dance quickly opened up a much deeper discussion around confidence, rejection, body image, invisible health challenges, neurodiversity, personal boundaries and what true inclusivity really looks like on a social dance floor.

In this extended episode, Liz and Mark explore the balance between kindness, personal choice and community, discussing why asking can feel vulnerable, why saying no must sometimes be respected, and how one dance can change someone’s whole evening.

At Ceroc Inspire, we believe social dancing should be a space where asking feels safe, declining feels safe, and everyone feels welcome wherever they are in their dance journey.

Join us as we unpack an important conversation about confidence, connection and community through dance.

  • Dance and Community: Why the Ceroc Inspire Podcast Matters
    May 10 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Dance and community are at the heart of this episode as Liz and Mark reflect on why the Ceroc Inspire Dance Inspiration Podcast still matters.

After several weeks of Liz working away and missing Ashbourne and Burton class nights, this conversation explores how much the Ceroc Inspire community means to them personally, not just as franchisees. Liz shares how visiting Ceroc Swansea while away reminded her how powerful it feels to be welcomed into a dance family, and how returning to Derby for Denim and Diamonds brought home just how much she had missed everyone.

Liz and Mark also talk honestly about why they considered stopping the podcast, why they have decided to continue, and how the podcast gives their dancers another way to stay connected, especially those who do not use social media or do not receive emails.

The episode also includes updates on Denim and Diamonds, new freestyle DJs Chris and Jamie, Inspire and Evolve, upcoming workshops, temporary workshop venue changes, Sonia covering the front desk, and the start of Ceroc X across Derby, Ashbourne and Burton.

This is a warm, honest episode about belonging, feedback, community, and why Ceroc Inspire is more than just a dance class.

  • Dance and Community: How Ceroc Brings Different People Together
    Mar 15 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Dance and community come together in this episode of the Ceroc Inspire Dance Inspiration Podcast as Liz and Mark reflect on the people behind the dance floor and the community they have built through Ceroc Inspire.

The conversation begins with a moment during taxi dancer training, when Liz realised that many of the people in the room would never have met if it were not for dance. From there, the episode explores the many different stories, personalities and life experiences that come together within a Ceroc community.

Liz and Mark talk about the different needs dance can meet, from confidence building, friendship and exercise to structure, routine and social connection. They reflect on how some dancers love busy venues while others prefer quieter nights, how some enjoy classes while others come mainly for freestyle, and how themed events, social media, social outings and regular routines all play a part in shaping the wider community.

The episode also touches on the harder side of life, including grief, divorce, illness, injury, financial pressure and loneliness, and how staying connected through emails, online groups and the wider Ceroc family can help dancers still feel part of something even when they cannot attend.

This is a thoughtful and positive conversation about what makes a dance community special, and how Ceroc can bring together people from very different walks of life through a shared love of dance.
