  • 2/28 Southern California Weather 6 AM: 48° Above Normal
    Feb 28 2026
Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. Folks, yesterday was absolutely bonkers. Eight locations smashed daily heat records. Woodland Hills hit 90 degrees. Burbank, 94. Downtown LA, 91. That's late July heat. In February. A stubborn ridge of high pressure parked over us, pumping offshore winds and pushing temps 48 degrees to 48 degrees above normal. In the next 24 hours. But that ridge? It's packing its bags. Onshore flow creeps back this afternoon as the whole pattern slides east. Think of it like the ocean finally exhaling toward the land again. The coast feels it first. Inland. Not so fast. Down in San Diego, you wake up to 60 degrees under clear skies. Sunshine carries you to 81 by midday with gentle south winds. A pleasant Saturday by any measure. Head north to Greater LA and it's warmer. You're starting at 63, climbing to 87 by early afternoon. Tonight cools to 58 degrees. Now the Inland Empire. Still cooking. Mostly sunny, high near 90 degrees, with west winds gusting to 20 miles an hour. That marine air hasn't muscled its way past the passes yet. Give it a day. Sunday is when you really notice the shift. LA drops to 80. San Diego, 77. Even the Inland Empire eases to 85. Patchy fog rolls along the coast Sunday night into Monday morning. Remember fog? It's been a while. Monday delivers the real cooldown. Valley highs in the low 70s. Coastal spots settle into the 60s. Gusty west winds rip through mountain passes and desert corridors Sunday into Monday. Gusts to 40 miles an hour. Secure anything loose in the yard. Tuesday through Thursday, temperatures creep back up a few degrees each day under sunny skies. Mid week highs land in the mid to upper 70s. and rain? Not a drop in sight through mid March. If yesterday's records caught your attention, a quick rating helps other locals find us too. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.

  • 2/27 Southern California Weather 6 PM: Beach Hazards Statement
    Feb 28 2026
Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. Folks, we're living in a toaster oven right now. A massive ridge of high pressure is parked directly over us, compressing the air and heating things up fast. We're talking temperatures twenty degrees above normal. You might even see some records fall today. In the next 24 hours. Here's the thing — don't get too comfortable. A low pressure system is dropping down from the north. It flattens this heat dome by Saturday. Onshore flow returns, bringing that familiar marine air back. That means a quick cool down for the weekend. If you step outside right now. Greater Los Angeles is sitting at 91 degrees under sunny skies. You hit your high of 88 around 3 P.M. Winds shift from southwest to west-northwest around 7 P.M. Tonight, expect mostly clear skies and a low around 61. Down in San Diego County, you're at 86 degrees. Look for a high near 84 this afternoon. Winds shift from northwest to southwest around 10 A.M. Tonight stays mostly clear with a low around 61. Over in the Inland Empire, the thermometer reads 92 degrees. You top out near 91 this afternoon. Winds shift from northwest to west around 6 P.M. Lows drop to about 61 tonight under mostly clear skies. Heads up if you're traveling north — a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for the Central Valley from 2 A.M. To 10 A.M. Saturday. Watch for sudden visibility changes. Here's your outlook for the week ahead. Saturday brings cooling, with Los Angeles near 86 and San Diego at 81. Sunday gets even cooler, with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s. By Monday, we settle into the 70s across the board. We stay dry through midweek. It looks like classic Southern California spring weather is about three weeks early. The UV index is high today, so slather on sunscreen if you're heading out. Also, sunrise was at 6:25 A.M. We're gaining two minutes of daylight every day now. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.

  • Flood Warning | Southern California Weather 6 AM
    Feb 26 2026
Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Southern California Weather Podcast. It's Thursday, February 26th. Fifty six degrees and clear skies right now. Enjoy that while you sip your coffee.. Because today is about to feel like May. High pressure is parked overhead, shoving temperatures 49 degrees to 49 degrees above normal. Greater LA starts with patchy fog before 10 A.M. Once that burns off, sunshine takes the wheel. Highs push toward 80 degrees. Tonight only dips to 60. Head south to San Diego County and it's the same playbook. Fog, then sun, then 79 degrees with northwest gusts near 20 miles an hour. Overnight low around 59. Now the Inland Empire. That's where things get spicy. Sunny skies, 86 degrees. The kind of afternoon where your steering wheel reminds you summer exists. Tonight cools to just 58. But tomorrow is the real story. Friday is the peak of this heat wave. LA hits 87. San Diego reaches 85. And the Inland Empire soars to 92 degrees. Records could fall in the inland valleys. February doing its best July impression. Quick note before you head out. UV index hits 49 degrees today, which is high. Slather on sunscreen even though your brain says it's winter. Air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups, so if you've respiratory concerns, keep outdoor workouts light. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Sunrise at 6:26, sunset at 5:47. Spring equinox is three weeks out.. But honestly, today already feels like it arrived. Looking ahead, Saturday stays warm with mid 80s inland. Then a weak low pressure system nudges us back toward reality Sunday into Monday. Mid 70s by early next week. Still gorgeous. Just not record breaking. I'll be tracking those potential records tomorrow. Charge your phone, because you'll want photos of that February 92. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
