• Stop Waiting to Become 'Her'

    You do not become her and then act like her.

    You act like her until you are her.

    In the last episode, we talked about identity-based habits and deciding who it is that you are becoming. In this episode, we are taking that one step further and talking about how to actually become that person in real life.

    The answer is simple, but powerful: act as if.

    Not in a fake-it-till-you-make-it way. Not in a performative way. Not in a pretend-to-be-something-you-are-not kind of way.

    Acting as if means rehearsing the version of you that already exists as potential. It means asking yourself how your future self would move, speak, think, respond, choose, protect her energy, take care of herself, and show up today.

    So many of us put our next-level identity on layaway. We tell ourselves that once we lose the weight, make the money, grow the business, become more confident, or finally “arrive,” then we will start acting like that version of ourselves.

    But transformation does not work that way.

    The real order is not do, have, become.

    It is be, do, have.

    In this episode, I’m walking you through what “act as if” really means, why it is not the same as faking it, and how to close the gap between who you are now and who you are becoming with one small behavior today.

    Your behavior will almost always come back into alignment with who you believe you are. So if you are trying to build new habits while still identifying with the old version of yourself, eventually the old identity usually wins.

    In this episode, I’m breaking down why identity-based change is so powerful, how to stop white-knuckling your way toward your goals, and how to start becoming the kind of person who naturally takes the actions your next level requires.

    You will also get a simple action step to use today: pick one goal, name the identity underneath it, and take one small action from that identity.

    Because lasting change does not start with forcing yourself harder.

  • The Mindset Shift That Changed My Relationship With Alcohol

    The thoughts, meanings, and emotional associations you attach to certain habits and experiences can shape the way you feel about them, sometimes without you even realizing it.

    In this episode, I’m sharing a deeply personal story about how I began to understand this after going through one of the hardest seasons of my life. I talk about the association my brain had created between alcohol and sadness, how awareness changed the way I related to drinking, and why that realization made me curious about what else I could intentionally reframe.

    So I started experimenting.

    I practiced attaching more empowering thoughts to things I used to dislike, like reading and broccoli (hehe). Over time, those experiences began to change too.

    This episode is an invitation to notice the patterns your brain has been repeating, choose one area of your life that could use a reset, and start intentionally creating a new meaning around it.
