George Pantis is in a pickle. I have never been disappointed in Marina Lewycka storyline and this was a good one. All the misunderstandings and idiosyncratic mores of culture, age and experience, delightfully explored. A gem. Thank you.

I waited for her new book for such a long time as she is one of my favourite authors. I returned this book. It was so disappointing.

I love Lewycka’s early stuff, but this is real let down. What starts off as social commentary quickly descends into farce. Woefully unbelievable characters, a ridiculous story and zero believability. One to avoid!
