Always a good story, but the ponderous narrator (he got better) made it a tricky listen as did the weird mispronunciations eg ‘fellis’ as ‘fell- ees’. I do wish a narrator could follow the ‘rules’ of pronunciation. It drives me nuts!

Dis not like the narration at all. it really spoilt the book for me. He seemed to warm up a bit after chapter 2, trying to put on different voices for characters but failed for me to bring it to life.

I love the Pern novels and having read this book many years ago was looking forward to listening to it while walking.
