Summary
When six-year-old Felix Morales is seemingly dragged out of town by a giant wolf, Noelle Summers is the one woman who has the knowledge and ability to find him. Armed with icy witchcraft and a thirst for justice, Noelle sets out to get Felix back, but not without running into a few glitches. Fun short witch cosy
I have to admit that 'witchy cosies' aren't my favourite genre, but I wanted to listen to something lighthearted and this was available as a free review copy.
Not being a regular reader/listener of witch stories I am not quite sure what the rules are about what witches can or cannot do, or perhaps there aren't any and it's down to the author to set their own rules. But I couldn't see why the heroine's family couldn't help her, and effectively left her to her own devices.
But convenient 'logic' means that this is quite an exciting story with quite a bit of action and a very strong underlying good vs bad theme, needless to say the heroine, Noelle, is on the side of good. I also liked the deadline that was set for her to sort out the mess that she's in.
I do have to compliment the narrator, Tia Rider Sorensen is one of the best audio book narrators that I have heard, she manages to give each character a distinct voice, and they are all completely appropriate to the character, and her pace of delivery is excellent, she really made this story very listenable.

Winter witch
Okay I am really confused. The blurb is not right for the book and and I have no ideas where is comes in the series it says one in the title but two in the sub title. Anyway if you happy to ignore all that and don't mind listening to them out of order then it is a fun short cozy witch mystery. It is a clean mystery as there is no murder and I enjoyed it. I liked the mystery and the way Noelle has to figure out what was going on. The characters are great and I liked Noelle's unusual power of being able to control the weather (or it might just be snow not sure on that) off to start another book by this author because even though this book is part of a series they can listened to as a standalone.
Noelle wakes up to find her world turned up side down. She is engaged to a male she doesn't know, living in a house she doesn't recognise, the people she thought of as her best friends hate her and her actually best friend seems like a stranger. Her power feels non existent and more importantly she isn't a teacher any more because there is no children left in town. What is going on? As she is struggling with two sets of memories Noelle will have to find out what is going on and why everybody else is happy to accept the situation and all before she says "I do".
I really liked the narrator, she made the story really enjoyable by using her voice well and exciting. Will be happy to listen to her again.

enjoyable chaos
I loved this book!
Tia Rider Sorensen is a perfect narrator for this series, she has the perfect light tone for Noelle our main character, and gives each of the other characters their own tones that make them stand on their own.
The story moves at a fast pace and we are thrown straight into the absolute chaos of the adventure. Alexandrite Clarke has a great writing voice, pulling us straight into the story and creating warm, likeable characters that you really want to succeed.
