We will be tackling these steps one by one in a way that will have you saying "I just can’t believe it was that easy." And the truth is that it’s even easier then that. If you can follow a recipe to make a cake then with the help of the HDW you could be making anything from Moonshine to Vodka.

Forget Starbucks - there's an entire world of coffee waiting to be discovered. Around two billion cups of coffee are consumed across the world every day. Second only to crude oil, it’s the world’s largest traded commodity. The origin of coffee is shrouded in legend, and no one knows for sure exactly how it was discovered (although its discovery is largely attributed to a herd of energetic Ethiopian goats in AD 850). It’s little wonder, then, that coffee is so steeped in culture, with a rich history and a complex social and cultural narrative.

Patrick E. McGovern takes us on a fascinating journey through time to the dawn of brewing, when our ancestors might well have made a paleo brew of wild fruits, honey, cereals, and botanicals. Early beverage makers must have marveled at the magical process of fermentation. Their amazement grew as they drank the mind-altering drinks, which were to become the medicines, religious symbols, and social lubricants of later cultures.

Author sounds like he's kind of a dick
The writing is condescending and the author sounds a little self-important.
Also uses outmoded phrases and sentiments like "put hair on your chest" and "whiskey is a drink for real men"

Adequate.
Informative outline on the subject, though I would have preferred if the latter chapters on simple cocktail recipes and general practices for online shopping were instead used to delve further into aspects like flavor identification, building your palate, etc. Lastly, I recommend checking the audio sample to see if the narrator will affect your listening experience. Overall, reasonable at the price.

This book has some facts, some stories, some opinions...
There are far better books on the subject of whiskey that are just much better put together, are more interesting and informative, and have a narrator that doesn't sound condescending. My opinion.
