About this listen
The Wanton Troopers riding by have shot my fawn, and it will die. Can defeated Royalist, Hugh Malahide, reject the siren song of King Charles's lost cause and survive? Only armed by force of character and a charm-the-birds smile, he sets about seduction, burglary, and defying fate.
Another glorious novel from Lindsey Erith, filled with action, adventure, and romance that will keep you gripped until the last sentence.
Wanton Troopers is read for audiobook by the award-winning actor, Clive Hayward, and produced by The Other Operation.

Escape into history, adventure and romance
Wanton Troopers offers a captivating escape into the tumultuous era of the English Civil War. The writing is richly descriptive, painting a vivid picture of the period and its characters. The story weaves together elements of historical drama and romance, creating a compelling narrative following Malahide's adventures.
The characters are well-developed and the plot kept me engaged from beginning to end. Clive Hayward's voice is well selected and the lute chapter introductions enhanced my immersion in the period.
This is a historical romance that will appeal to fans of the genre.

Great story, excellently brought to life!
This is my second book by Lindsey Erith, read by Clive Hayward and produced by The Other Operation and it is just as good as the first, Mary Florida.
Clive Hayward, yet again, shows his skill at defining and maintaining excellent character voices so consistently that we don’t need to be told who’s speaking – it’s perfectly clear from their voice.
I look forward to Lindsey Erith’s next book with Clive Hayward and The Other Operation!
