The destruction of the Death Star by the Rebel Alliance was a decisive blow against the Empire, but Palpatine and his monstrous enforcer, Darth Vader, are no less of a threat. The brutal extermination of Alderaan not only demonstrated the magnitude of their murderous power, but served as a chilling testament to their resolve to crush the Rebel uprising. Standing against them, Skywalker, Solo, and the Princess remain uncertain opponents. Luke is gifted and brave, but unschooled in the power he possesses.

Summary
The aces of the New Republic have one final chance to defeat the darkness of Shadow Wing in this thrilling conclusion to the Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron trilogy!
In the wake of Yrica Quell’s shocking decision - and one of the fiercest battles of their lives - the remnants of Alphabet Squadron seek answers and closure across a galaxy whose old war scars are threatening to reopen.
Soran Keize has returned to the tip of Shadow Wing’s spear. Operation Cinder, the terrifying protocol of planetary extermination that began in the twilight of the Imperial era, burns throughout the galaxy. Shadow Wing is no longer wounded prey fleeing the hunters of the New Republic. With its leader, its strength has returned, and its Star Destroyers and TIE squadrons lurk in the darkness between stars, carrying out the fallen Emperor’s final edict of destruction - as well as another, stranger mission, one Keize has championed not for the dying Empire, but for its loyal soldiers.
Alphabet Squadron’s ships are as ramshackle and damaged as their spirits, but they’ve always had one another. Now, as they face the might of Keize’s reborn juggernaut, they aren’t sure they even have that. How do you catch a shadow? How do you kill it? And when you’re finally victorious, who pays the price?

A good finale
Even though January is a fabulous reader I don't think that even if she narrated all 3 books it would have changed my opinion of this trilogy.
Yes there were some good points and this last book did tie it in with other books like the Aftermath trilogy but I consider this trilogy a total waste of time and money.
My advice to anyone thinking this would be a good set to listen to while you wait for the next Rogue Squadron book is choose something else or simply save your money.

the angst is a lot to handle...
The character Chasna Chatuc* is almost impossible to listen to. Her angst and permanent anger makes any scene she is in almost painful. I wish I could delete all of her lines.

Keep the narrators consistent!
Struggling with this one as they used a different narrator for each book. Really wish they would keep it consistent. These characters that I learned to love in the previous two installments sound nothing like what they were portrayed as before. Story was fine.

in excellent trilogy of books
when I first heard about alphabet squadron I was intrigued. over these last three books I've grown to care about these characters almost as much as the movie ones. I hope they get the love and treatment they deserve on the big screen. the bittersweet ending rings true as it probably does for so many veterans.

Great ending to the series but had some performance problems.
January did a great job with the character voices except there were times where I couldn’t distinguish Will Lark’s and Nash Tensant’s voices apart. The echo of the voices dialog even in a setting where it wasn’t necessary was annoying. There were a few instances where the background music didn’t immediately say Star Wars to me.
