About this listen
Maybe it was a grandparent or a teacher or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching and gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it. For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly 20 years ago. Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded. Wouldn't you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you?
Mitch Albom had that second chance. He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man's life. Knowing he was dying of ALS, or motor neurone disease, Morrie visited Mitch in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college. Their rekindled relationship turned into one final "class": lessons in how to live. This is a chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie's lasting gift with the world. ©1997 Mitch Albom (P)2004 Time Warner AudioBooksI'm sort of left a bit perplexed. For sure it was someone's experience and story but I felt something was missing- whether it was he structure of the chapters I don't know, but felt it could have been laid out better with "life's lessons"
The only take away I can see are;
- death comes to all, enjoy what you have
- don't live in the past
Wanted to enjoy it more but felt something was missing.

Morrie’s upbeat and positive attitude are so admiring! This book leaves you feeling like you have a friend, someone to share a connection and engage with even when things around you might be awful (it’s 2021 after all).
Certainly not a choice I would have sought out but I’m so glad for the recommendation to listen. I’m sure each listen can take a huge amount from the book, not least a lasting connection to a person I never got to meet RIP Morrie.
Amazingly uplifting and eye opening for 2021

If you could sum up Tuesdays with Morrie in three words, what would they be?
RealisticMoving
Impressionable
Who was your favorite character and why?
Morrie SchwartzHe has wonderful way of describing lifes experiences. He is full of wisdom and doesn't judge anyone in any shape or form.
What about Mitch Albom’s performance did you like?
I always love it when an author reads their very own book. You know that you are getting a true reflection on how they want you to view the book. Having listened to a couple of Mitch's books I always like the impressions he does of his characters, especially when he is delivering a particular humourous part of the story. Mitch certainly didn't fail in this book with his impersonations of Morrie.Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
It would have to be towards the end of the book when Morrie was dying. Despite Morrie being very uncomfortable with his illness it was moving to hear how he was so calm and composed throughout this time and certainly not afraid to die. It gave me some peace and understanding into the circle of life.A Poignant Read!
