Summary

Barefoot Doctor trained in Aikido and hands-on healing within Bonsai from age 11. He later studied psychotherapy with maverick R. D. Laing, along with yoga, tai chi, and Chinese medicine. He then capped it all by living with the Native Americans in New Mexico for four years studying shamanism. Since 1983 he has been developing innovative ways of teaching this wealth of ancient life-management wisdom in the modern idiom so people with stressful, busy schedules can benefit and gain the most from their lives. In this program the Barefoot Doctor will teach you about the Tao. Within these teachings you will learn about why we are here. The Tao will make you unstoppable in everything you do, because it gives you the power to access the source of existence itself. Using what you learn about the Tao, you can:

  • Visualize events you want to happen in a way that actually makes them happen.
  • Give yourself positive commands so you are always focused and powerful.
  • Jump over hurdles and hindrances previously posed by other people and circumstances.
  • Understand how to divine the life you truly want. And then manifest it into abundant reality.
  • Heal yourself and make yourself strong, by applying specific preventative healing energies to your five vital organs.
  • Balance the three competing psychic chambers of your body, and so become the harmonious master of your own mind.
  • Become physically attractive to others as the increased chi energy flowing through your face gives you effortless charisma.

Brilliant

I love this, i found the Barefoor Doctor back in 1998 and i have been using his teachings since then, so listening to this Audio book is a great top up and reminder of the many teachings he has been teaching us Urban Warriors

A cheery romp through Taoism

In his inimitable style the Doc takes us through some of the main points of his teachings. A potted version of material of interest from across his books but mainly Urban Warrior.

If you are curious about Taoism but not ready to wade through a lot of challenging concepts then this is your perfect introduction. True to the ideals but presented in a very accessible way.

I miss his cheery presence on earth, but appreciate how he helped me make some breakthroughs over the last 20 years.

Awesome once again!

Absolutely brilliant, again causing me to stop, think, re-evaluate and actually practice some of these techniques once more.

The Urban Warriors Handbook was exactly that when I first got it back in 1997, I practiced the techniques daily...but got out of practice

Listening to this book has reminded me of what I gotta want to be doing and with it being an audio book the vocal exercises are easy to replicate, much easier than trying to describe it I bet

Loved every word

great book; easy on the ear, very interesting, loads of information, really do-able and fun to try. I'm already experiencing profound changes and I've only had the book a few weeks.
I'm very thankful to have found it,
