Summary
New York Times Best Seller
An Explosive, Revelatory Assessment of the Greatest Betrayal in American History, Newly Revised and Updated
William Barr, Paul Manafort, Michael Cohen, Steve Bannon, Rudy Giuliani, Mitch McConnell, Roger Stone, George Papadopoulos, Jeff Sessions, and more!
"Impressive.... A persuasive whodunit narrative." (Washington Post)
In The Plot to Betray America, New York Times best-selling author and renowned intelligence expert Malcolm Nance reveals exactly how President Trump and his inner circle conspired, coordinated, communicated, and eventually strategized to commit the greatest acts of treachery in the history of the United States: Compromising the presidential oath of office in exchange for power and personal enrichment.
Seduced by the promises of riches dangled in front of them by Vladimir Putin, the Trump administration eagerly decided to reap the rewards of the plan to put a Kremlin-friendly crony in the Oval Office. Even after his impeachment, Trump continues to defend Putin and jeopardize American intelligence. And instead of interfering, Trump's powerful Republican allies have done everything they can to facilitate Trump's irreparable damage to national security.
Through in-depth research and interviews with intelligence experts and insiders, Nance charts Trump's deep financial ties to Russia through his family's investments-including those of Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner-and exposes the corrupt behavior of Trump's other double-crossing pro-Moscow associates. In doing so, Nance also draws a portrait of a venal and selfish president, one who willingly sells American national security to dictators, strongmen, and the ultra-rich at the expense, and sometimes the lives, of American citizens.
In this newly revised and updated edition, The Plot to Betray America ultimately sketches the blueprint of the Trump administration's conspiracy against our country-and shows us how we can still fight to defend democracy, protect our national security, and save the Constitution.

Best Book about Trump: Before and During His Presidency
I’ve read just about every book that has come out about Trump since he announced his run for office. This book covers the background, which started long ago, of Trump’s relationship with Russia. There is so much more to the story, and all the people in it, than any other book reveals. Nance’s book is the most far-reaching of any I’ve read yet. I’d encourage every concerned American to read it, and share the information. And do it soon!

Didn't age well
A lot of references to the Steel Dossier that has been discredited by both sides.
As a conservative, I listened to this book just to get an idea of what the other side thinks and why they think it. Not that I thought they were stupid just wanted to understand, and it is no better than right-wing books. It starts with the assumption that only their particular side can be right and anyone who doesn't agree with them must be brain-washed.
The author is very condescending to anyone who doesn't believe what he believes.

Amazing Amount of Detail
No need to try to struggle through the Mueller Report after listening to this study of the facts by Nance. Yes, we’re dealing with impeachment currently, but Trump’s entire time in office and the months that lead up to it are one impeachment-worthy scandal after another. Chapter #15 on begins to tie it all together with a nice epilogue too. I’m not sure I would have had the tenacity to plow through the details of this study on my own. I’m grateful for Wyman reading it to me. Well worth the time.

Brilliantly detailed, expert level information
This was an incredible read; Malcolm did a meticulous accounting of the layers of corruption, treason, lying and much more of Trump, his Administration and the Oligarchies in betraying and mis-leading America by creating and building a Russian Mafia / Communist run country.
This is an excellent educational book, that provides a clear and easily consumable approach to explaining the tangle of madness that is the Trump/Putin-run America.
This book pairs perfectly with "Blow Out" by Rachel Maddow. Reading both will provide a very strategic and tactical level of information to truly understand the whole story (not the watered-down version we are being fed through the media).
I have always been a proponent of the ways that the Scandinavian countries are led. Upon reading this book, I am that much more convinced that America MUST follow in line with countries like Finland who teach their children to identify what is fake news, dis-information, and what is really happening politically at any time; so they are not easily mis-lead and controlled, and grow up being able to make their own decisions, political or otherwise.

Important but depressing read
This book gives more details about the scandals and corruptions around trump. Very depressing to listen but I persisted to the end to hear what the solutions Nance proposes. Trump is a very effective marker. He is so good at spotting and attracting what's corruptible, one just needs to see who support him to know where the rot is. Without him, it'd take much longer to ferret out all the decays. I don't think we can blame Russian disinformation alone. That'd ignore the role of the those who welcome the disinformation and refuse to be persuaded by evidence. Those people remind me of kids being told all their lives that 'they are great/special just the way they are'. Once they left home, their innate specialness got reality checked. It's natural and less painful to seek blame outside oneself. Holding on to the Bible and guns make one feels stronger much quicker and easier than being actually strong.
