Summary
The Multi-Hyphen Method is an essential new business audiobook for the digital age.
The Internet and our phones mean we can work wherever, whenever, and allow us to design our own working lives. In The Multi-Hyphen Method, Emma Gannon teaches that it doesn't matter if you're a part-time PA with a blog or a physio who runs an online jewellery store in the evenings - whatever your ratio, whatever your mixture, we can all channel the entrepreneurial spirit.
Today, the stigma of being a jack of all trades is being dispelled, and having more strings to your bow is essential to getting ahead in the modern working world. Emma Gannon's audiobook is the ultimate guide in helping us navigate our way towards success.

Last half is the best
I found the first half incredibly repetitive.
And the lists about other multi hyphens can grate while listening to audio.
Then you get on to the chapters which have info and advice and this is why I downloaded the book. Emma has clearly done her research. I will be listening to those chapters again with a pen and paper next time round. This book might be better to buy a hard copy, so you can highlight bits that were relevant rather than the audio version.

A bit boring
What was said in a full book could have been said in a chapter. Very repetitive and not really any actionable ideas. Centred around city living and her own personal experienced, doesn't feel very well researched and broad. Bit boring really.

So many helpful and informative points - the chapter on burn out was especially relatable!

I'm a Multi-Hyphener and Proud
Having left behind a full time corporate career and started my own venture/s, I have been earning a living from a few different revenue streams over the past number of years.
I dread being asked what I do for a living because it's complicated explaining that I work at 'this and that' and that I don't actually have a traditional 'full time job' or career any longer.
This book challenges the norm and outlines how Multi-Hyphened jobs are fast becoming the new means of making a living in the 21st Century.
"Today, the average person changes their job 5 times in their lives. In the future our children will be doing 5 jobs at the same time - and these haven't even been invented yet!"
A highly recommended read.

Repetitive and not very informative
Very little actual information and went over the same points again and again. The first half of the book could have been condensed into an introductory chapter.

Very little content - a lot of words
I have persevered with this audio book as there are some snippets of interesting ideas and information. They are few and far between though. The book is repetitive and gives little valuable insight.

Well researched
I always wanted a portfolio career and knew it was for me but couldn’t articulate the benefits into words, not shake of this feeling it’s all taboo. Emma brought so many aspects of this new way of working to her book. I’m now a fan and signed up to get podcast!

Highly recommend for anyone looking to work outside the norm!
I have recently launched a side hustle as an event manager and I have been feeling a bit lost and unfocused. This helped set me on the right track and find a clear way to achieve my goals. I love Emma’s writing and listen to her podcast often- she is clear, concise and wise!
