Summary
Brook Eden has never known where she truly belongs. Though raised in the palace of Monaco, she's British by birth and was brought to the Grimaldis under suspicious circumstances as a babe. When Brook's friend, Justin, uncovers the fact that Brook is likely a missing heiress from Yorkshire, Brook leaves the sun of the Mediterranean to travel to the moors of the North Sea, to the estate of her supposed family. The mystery of her mother's death haunts her, and though her father is quick to accept her, the rest of the family and the servants of Whitby Park are not. Only when Brook's life is threatened do they draw close - but their loyalty may come too late to save Brook from the same threat that led to tragedy for her mother.
As heir to a dukedom, Justin is no stranger to balancing responsibilities. When the matters of his estate force him far from Brook, the distance between them reveals that what began as friendship has grown into something much more. But how can their very different loyalties and responsibilities ever come together? And then, for a second time, the heiress of Whitby Park is stolen away because of the very rare treasure in her possession - and this time only the servants of Whitby can save her.

The Lost Heiress 💕
I actually found this book by accident. I was searching for another book and this one caught my eye. Plus, seeing that Liz Pearce narrated, I knew I had to give this one a try and I'm glad I did.
This is a wonderful story with mystery, romance, and faith. I enjoyed the endearing mix of characters and the story kept me totally entertained. It is well written and a great beginning to this series. This is no cliffhanger either, which I appreciated. If you enjoy clean historical romances that are faith-based then put this one on your must listen list. I'm looking forward to the next one in the series.

Most Romantic Christian Historical Romance Around!
The voice actress/narrator left something to be desired with her French accent. The heroine, Brook, has been raised in Monaco and has spoken French all her life. I almost stopped listening to the audiobook because of the awful accent the narrator gave her BUT since I was SO looking forward to reading this special book by Roseanna, I gave her a one chapter chance and I am SO GLAD I did!!! Because this book was wonderful!!!
This book is a lifetime effort by Roseanna. She began writing it as a young girl and has revised and rewritten it numerous times. It's hard to bypass a book like that and when you get a chance to read a book that is from the author's heart, well...you're in for the chance of a lifetime. If this book doesn't receive numerous awards I will be surprised and disappointed! It deserves to be a Christian historical romance classic! The characters and the storyline remind me of a beautiful Christ-infused book that is a compilation of some of my favorite books that I read growing up!
Highly recommend!

A beautifully written Christian love story
The performance is absolutely wonderful. The different accents and the manner of delivery was superb. I feel her performance was what pushed the rating for me. I am not at all religious. I am more a believer of science and yet I like stories where faith has helped others during rough times and has provided hope as a lesson. In my books I don't mind the religious push until every other sentence becomes God willing and let's pray. This book was amazing and although it had religious undertones, that portion did not dominate and take over so completely until the last two to three hours. Then it almost seemed like the ending path was lost and characters behaved so incredibly and uncharacteristically religious that book became uninteresting. It was as though RW decided to just mainly focus on religion as the only savior. To give you and example without giving the story away, when the heroine went missing and all those employed at the mansion were told to JUST pray for the heroine's safe return and then the repeated mention of the cook whom Only prayed and put on lavish meals is when I found the story beyond silly. So I still recommend this book although the ending was so simple and put together without all the effort put in the beginning and middle of this storyline.

Heavy handed Christianity
I was really enjoying the first 2/3rds of the book, then the end started getting REALLY heavy-handed with the God and Bible quotes & references.
When drama happens what do you do? pray, pray, pray. Oi! Wasn’t looking for a poorly constructed sermon. I wanted a period romance novel.
