Story
Number-one best-seller John Grisham returns with his most suspenseful thriller yet. Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of the USA only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett just became number five. I did not know Judge Fawcett, but I know who killed him, and why. I am a lawyer, and I am in prison. It's a long story.

He was accused of killing Keith Russo, a lawyer in a small Florida town. But there were no witnesses and no motive. Just the fact that Quincy was black in an all-white town and that a blood-splattered torch was found in the boot of his car. A torch he swore was planted. A torch that conveniently disappeared from evidence just before his trial.

Summary
Mickey Haller is a Lincoln lawyer--a criminal defence attorney who operates out of the back of his car, a Lincoln, taking whatever cases the system throws in his path. He's been in the business a long time, and he knows just how to work it.
When a Beverly Hills rich boy is arrested for brutally beating a woman, Haller has his first high-paying client in years. The evidence mounts on the defence's side, and Haller might even be in the rare position of defending a client who is actually innocent. But then the case starts to fall apart, neither the suspect nor the victim are quite who they seem--and Haller quickly discovers that when you swim with the sharks, it's easy to wind up as prey.

The Lincoln Lawyer
Great naration by Adam Grubber, made this book one of the best I have listened to. I will now be looking for other books narated by him. My eyes are not so good now, so I listen more than I read. I have listened to samples of books I have read, & enjoyed, but it is usually the narator that makes or breaks the deal for me. I'm this case it was a winner for me.
But I must finish by saying it was a very good story by Michael Connolly, and I will look out for more of his books.

Great story marred by sloppy production.
Time warner's insistence on the random insertion of electronic musical interludes which tended to drown the narration nearly spoilt an exciting, well crafted story. Beautifully read, it introduced a multi layered character who is a great addition to the Connelly stable
