Summary
Strong leaders at all levels within an organization are a requisite for business success. Yet the leadership pipeline—the internal architecture for growing leaders—is often broken or non-existent. This updated edition of the best-selling The Leadership Pipeline has been revised to help address the challenges of today’s business environment. Anchored in experience, it offers a tested model for planning leadership succession and development that has proven to get results. The authors draw on their work at more than one hundred international companies to report on what has been learned in the ten years since the first edition of The Leadership Pipeline was published. They show how a company can develop leadership in each layer of their organization by defining the different skills required as leaders move from one level to the next. They explain how time should be applied differently, how work values required for success must change, and clearly illustrate what inappropriate leadership looks like at each step. In addition, the authors answer commonly asked questions and add new insights from their in-the-field research. The Leadership Pipeline shows how today’s companies can keep their leadership “pipeline” filled and flowing to ensure a steady supply of skilled leaders throughout the organization.

Insightful !
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
The book has a lotof details and information onthe different levels of leadership. This book is very useful for organizationsto structure themselves.
What other book might you compare The Leadership Pipeline 2E to and why?
I cant compare it to any otherbook purely becausethe detailsare technical in nature and the principles for different levels of management are broken down into stages.
What aspect of Walter Dixon’s performance would you have changed?
The narration aspect. It was exteemely tiring to listen to this because the voice was very monotonous.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
This book is about management concepts at different levels of an individuals career and the tools he requires. Dont this can be a film.
Any additional comments?
The audiobook was informative but the narration was honestly boring. It definitely needed livening up.

Very insightful and useful for any Leader
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The logic behind the pipeline concept is so simple and yet very rare to find in corporations. This book is a must for any business person in a corporation and wants to understand which are the specific skills/capabilities needed to grow in their career and take very different leadership positions.
I found it a critical concept for any leader that wants to better prepare talent to generate the greatest value in the company. Very simple: Talent is not alone and experience, much more needs to be done by a company to achieve success with the leadership talent.
I wish more companies apply these concepts to complement their talent development strategies.
Any additional comments?
Sometimes he books gets to detailed making some chapters a little slow. Overall great listen with very simple concepts.
