Summary

My father has been kidnapped by my worst enemies. Either that, or he willingly sold me out to them.

Whatever the case, I’m going to find him. Mind you, this would be a lot easier if every Fae in Chicago wasn’t already out for my blood.

They’re not getting it, though.

The only one who’s getting anywhere near my blood is the 700-year-old vampire who saved me. Yes, there are times when I’m convinced he’s not quite right in the head, but so far he’s the only supernatural being I’ve met who sees me as a person rather than a chess piece.

To the rest of them, I’m nothing more than the walking, talking evidence of a war crime. To him, I’m something else. He calls me a loose thread in the tapestry of his forgotten past, but he looks at me like I might be the key to his future.

The rest of them tell me I’m demonkin. They say I’m a succubus-human hybrid who shouldn’t exist.

One thing is very clear, though. My father is carrying a secret bigger than I ever dreamed, and I’m damn well going to pry it out of him.

I just have to get him back from the Fae first. Because, hey - what could possibly go wrong?

The Last Vampire is a steamy urban fantasy romance series from USA Today best seller R. A. Steffan and Jaelynn Woolf, coauthors of the Circle of Blood saga.

Download book two today, and return to a world shared by humans, fae, demons, and one very reluctant vampire. It’s a place where the supernatural threatens the mundane, nothing is as it seems, and love will be either the world’s downfall or its salvation.

Take a bite

Once you got the sex scenes out of the way (Well the main character is a succubus/human), I enjoyed this story, I don't think it was as action packed as the first book but it still has me wanting to get book three to find out what happens next.
The story takes up were the last book left off (I don't think you need to have read or listened to the first book but it helps so I would recommend you do.) Zorah must decide the best way to save her human father from the Fae. She has only just found out the truth about being part demon and part human, up until last week she didn't even know demons existed let alone magic. Now she has to go up against the Fae, can she go it alone or will she turn to Rans the last Vampire in the world for help.

The narrator (Gwendolyn) is one of my favourite readers and I have never listened to a book and not enjoyed it if she is reading it. She puts so much energy, emotion and range into each character that they easily come to life.

An excellent example of urban fantasy/para romance

I will start with the narration. Mainly because I usually end with it.
Gwendolyn Druyor is VERY good as a narrator. If you’ve never had the pleasure of listening to her narration you are most definitely in for a treat. She’s very good and brings a real sense of atmosphere to the books she narrates. Once again this is narrated excellently.

Zorah who is not the last Vampire is central to the story and we have a character that is very well developed through the book. You get very engaged in most of the characters but especially Zorah. It's an incredibly imaginative yet real feeling world and the story gives us action with enough twists and turns to really keep you listening. I enjoyed the banter between Zorah and Rans. In fact I really like it when you get that between two central characters where you find yourself smiling at it. The author has crafter all of the characters and the world very well. You will certainly enjoy this book!

Very good and very enjoyable.

Meh on the Story, but would continue listening

I received an Audible code for an honest review via Audiobook Boom. There was no compensation made in the making of this review. Everything that follows is my opinion and mine alone. As the title says, this is book two in an urban fantasy paranormal romance. It starts closely after the events of the first book. As with the last audiobook, the narrator did a good job and I did like the story. It just wasn't the best. I actually preferred book one in comparison.Book Two did reveal more of the fae world and introduced a political dynamic between the Fae and Demons. The world expansion was interesting. That said, everything else just seemed to be less. That isn't to say that I won't listen or read Book three, I hope to. I just don't think this one was as good as Book One.Final Rating: 2/5

Second Book..Zorah and Rans on The Run

Zorah and Rans begin to discover why Zorah is who she is...why she is being pursued by the fae...and their relationship begins to blossom...but to what.
Zorah never having been care for by anyone can’t believe Rans does. Still seeking her father’s love and now where has he physically been taken.
Action, discoveries and more mysteries..plus discovering that Zorah and Rans cares for the other’s safety more than their own.
Can’t wait for the next book!

for adults that are young at heart.

The story seem like something that was aimed at teens. Yet it has very adult sexual content and language.
The end of the book did not give adequate closure. Seem more like the end of a chapter.

Fantastic

Another fantastic book, I started this series because i love vampires and it sounded good. I was not disappointed. This picks up where the first book left off. The heroine can do some things that seem crazy like going to the Fae(who want her dead) to turn her self in hoping to exchange herself for her father and to keep Rans safe. Her father was kidnapped by the Fae or so she hopes it was a kidnapping and not a betrayal by her father. But she is going after him any way even though she knows that the Fae feels she should exist because she is a hybrid. She goes without Rans because she know he would not go along with it. This book has lots of action. The narrator does a great job bringing the characters to life. Can't wait to get the next book. I was gifted this book at my request in exchange for an honest review.

The story is getting rolling

With the world established and things in place the pace of this book moves at a quick clip and keeps things very entertaining. Already having Fae, vampires and demons throwing their weight around keeps things feeling big in scale and giving threats beyond the ones initially known. The narration by Gwendolyn Druyor is great and love the things she does with Zorah and the rest of the cast. I enjoy this world and look forward to more in the series.

Another Great Installment!

This is the continuation and it is wonderful! Still plenty of drama, action, adventure and suspense. This one picks up where book one left off and I found myself just as drawn in. This is an excellent series and I can't wait for the next installment! The narration by Gwendolyn Druyor is awesome as usual. I really feel she brings the story to life and I love the way she really gets the characters and their nuances. If you haven't checked out this series then you really should. I can't recommend this series enough!

Great story!

The authors have written another great story full of mystery, angst, humor, drama and suspense. It seems the more we read/hear, and the more answers we get, the more questions and mysteries there are. As Zorah goes in search of her father and answers to who she is and if he was her savior or betrayer, she ends up in over her head - way over her head. I don't mean to give any spoilers, but she experiences brutal torture at the hands of her fae captors that was almost too painful for me to listen to. I may be a softie, but I thought potential listeners should know that parts of the story are grim and traumatic. That said, she is rescued and a dramatic truth about Rans' existence is revealed. Overall, I enjoyed the book, I love the series, and I eagerly await answers to the remaining questions in the concluding volume 3 to come.

The narration was excellent. Ms. Druyor really captures the mood of the story and the emotions of the characters. She provides individualized and appropriate voices for the characters from Rans' brooding to Zarah's drunk routine to the ethereal cat fae.

The Last Vampire 2

This book picks up right where the first ends and continues in this perfect story of someone finding out they are more than human and that others are after her for it. We will see more of her history as well as the chemistry between her and her lonesome vampire. I loved listening to this story and can’t wait to hear the conclusion in the next.
