Summary

Two bodies. One survivor. A chilling truth.

Detective Jamie Johansson is finally finding normality in Stockholm when a phone call from her estranged mother draws her back to the UK. The bodies of two women have been discovered in the Brecon Beacons, badly beaten and buried shallow, and rumors of a trafficking ring are swirling. But when a crucial piece of evidence is accidentally destroyed, suspicion falls on those handling the case.

The National Crime Agency seizes control of the investigation, but the local police hide a vital piece of information: there is a third victim. And she's still alive. Jamie is thrust into the middle of the storm, allying herself with a former partner to answer the ultimate question. Who wants this girl dead, and why?

Jamie vows to protect her at all costs, but the killers are determined to finish the job, and will stop at nothing to silence her before she speaks. Who can Jamie trust to help uncover the truth? And will it be enough to save the girl, and herself, before they find them?

As the last light of day begins to fade...darkness is coming for them all.

I liked it was based in Wales. I liked the storyline to an extent. It was a little over the top and not at all believable. Maybe tone it down a bit. The two person army defeating everyone was a bit silly. The fact she gets to keep a minor is unbelievable. Also, you can't just walk onto a children's ward without been buzzed in these days in Wales. But if a children ITU unit would have many locked doors. So she couldn't just walk in. The over accent of the Welsh and Swedish names and places was annoying. Why say them like that with a deep Welsh or Swedish tone. Won't be buying another book from this author. It us a shame, I wanted to like this book

Worth the time listening for sure!!

I have listened to all of Morgan Greenes books about Jamie Johansson and this is another one I could not stop listening to. The story, the area and the characters came to life with the brilliant narrating and I can't wait for the next book. This one did leave a few questions unanswered at the end so I can only assume they will be answered in the next book. I hope so.

Back with a bang…!

Loved the earlier books. Always brilliantly plotted and exciting. Really great narration too. This is the start of a new trilogy following Jamie as she returns to Wales to help her estranged mum and new husband. It’s action packed, some new characters as well as old; and plenty of twists and turns to keep the pace hurtling along. Felt a little rushed at the end, with some unresolved plot lines but I presume these will be picked up in book 2. Hurry up audible and add it!

Another Cracking Tale

This is yet another wonderful instalment in this series. As the story unfolds the expected level of intrigue and excitement is maintained. Alongside that, the character depictions are excellent including introducing some new faces and keeping some old ones within view too. A shout out to the narration too which is some of the best. Already looking forward to the next one!

good story

This is a good story, frightening to think that this could happen.
It is really refreshing to hear Welsh place names actually said right in a audiobook well done!!!

Jamie has a death with

I absolutely love these books, and characters, I’m invested almost! Gutted beyond belief that Jamie and toursan did not get together, they love each other and quite frankly it kills me because she’s the kind of woman who doesn’t get too close to others. But the drama and action which seems to follow her leaves me wondering if she’s more of a cat! How many lives does she have left?

Very much a "Boy's Own" adventure story...

I tried really hard to stay the course with this, but it beat me long before the end.

It's a relentless "action-fest" of far-fetched drama and violence.

Certainly not the best of its genre.
