Summary
Blackstone Audiobooks presents, from the unabridged collection A.A. Milne's Pooh Classics, the 10 simple and timeless tales of The House At Pooh Corner performed by Peter Dennis. This is the only reading of these enthralling stories authorized by A. A. Milne's son, Christopher Robin, who wrote, "Peter Dennis has made himself Pooh's Ambassador Extraordinary and no bear has ever had a more devoted friend. So if you want to meet the real Pooh, the bear I knew, the bear my father wrote about, listen to Peter."
As you begin to listen to this beloved book, you'll enter that enchanted place on the top of the Forest where "a little boy and his Bear will always be playing".
The stories included in this volume are:
In Which A House Is Built at Pooh Corner for Eeyore
In Which Tigger Comes to the Forest and Has Breakfast
In Which A Search Is Organized, and Piglet Nearly Meets the Heffalump Again
In Which It Is Shown that Tiggers Don't Climb Trees
In Which Rabbit Has a Busy Day, and We Learn What Christopher Robin Does in the Mornings
In Which Pooh Invents a New Game and Eeyore Joins In
In Which Tigger Is Unbounced
In Which Piglet Does a Very Grand Thing
In Which Eeyore Finds the Wolery and Owl Moves Into It
In Which Christopher Robin and Pooh Come to an Enchanted Place, and We Leave Them There
Critic reviews
"This latest addition to the Pooh Classics, the 10 unabridged stories from The House at Pooh Corner, is a must....[Peter Dennis's] intelligent and whimsical readings, meant for adults and children alike, are captivating." (The Los Angeles Times)
"Actor Peter Dennis turns in a meltingly lovely narration. His voice is calm and friendly, yet he manages distinctive voices for each of the characters....This is an imaginative production to boot, with original music and sound effects. In many productions, sound effects are too loud and compete with the narration, but this is the first one to have gotten the balance just right." (Philadelphia Enquirer)

The House at Pooh Corner
My 8 year old son and 6 year old daughter have enjoyed this book nearly as much as my wife and I. The reading does this timeless classic justice, although Piglet's voice required a little getting used to. Overall, well worth the listen.

Unlistenable
Peter Dennis punctuates every utterance of Piglet's with incessant noises probably meant to be grunts but sounding more like farts. Either way they are disgusting and intolerably annoying. How Dennis got away with defiling Milne's work is anyone's guess.

Perfect narration
Pooh stories are always enjoyable. And the narration is absolutely perfect - cannot possibly be improved on.

Great trip down memory lane!
What made the experience of listening to The House at Pooh Corner the most enjoyable?
I had no idea what to expect from this audio book. I was a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh when I was young (and still do enjoy the films occasionally I will admit) but I could remember nothing about the original work. This made it a joy to listen to, especially as the characters are so different from how they are portrayed by Disney.
What does Peter Dennis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
His voices were brilliant. There were a few occasions were it seemed like he had forgotten just who he was supposed to be and did the wrong voice but I didn't mind too much and thankfully it did come out in the narrative just who was meant to be speaking.
I especially loved his voices for Christopher Robin and Rabbit.
Any additional comments?
If you are a fan of the TV/Cartoons of Winnie the Pooh I would highly suggest you give the original work a chance. I was pleasantly surprised by the difference.
On a side note, the music played to split up the various stories was lovely.

The house at Pooh corner
This classic, delightfully narrated, was I feel marred by the addition of a flatulent noise to denote the words of Piglet.

Pooh Corner
Lovely story, beautifully read with delightful music at intro and between some of the chapters. Soporific in parts so makes good bedtime audio for children!

can't stand piglets farting
I love the winnie the pooh stories but I couldn't listen to this with the awful piglet voice. absolutely stressed me out. I hope I can find another version because I find these stories to be super relaxing ordinarily. bad choice on the narration sadly

More Pooh tales
A light, easy listen. I found some of the voices (especially piglet, as mentioned by many others in their reviews) annoyingly distracting but I enjoyed it overall, for the most part. Its an ok, gentle listen, as expected.

Beautiful
The only weird thing is Tigger’s voice! I actually can’t listen to the stories with Tigger in because they make him sound like a real lout. V weird interpretation!
