Listening pleasure
I found it difficult to take my headphones off. Matthew Mullane does an amazing narration of Alan Williams's novel. Alan's story weaves it's way through Blackheath and the characters are brought to life by Matt in a special way. Recommend wholeheartedly by me

A fantastical listen
A great audio book. Laugh out loud moments, romantic, scary, weepy, a really good listen. The narrator has a wide variety of voices and coupled with the sound effects he keeps you hooked into the story.
Well worth a listen.

Any additional comments?
Dark, very quirky, funny and brilliant - I was intrigued to read this when a friend described it as bonkers - it is!
I listened to this on audible and loved the narration, I'm still a bit awkward with audio books as I don't seem to concentrate as much as when actually reading, particularly as I listen only when dog walking, cooking etc, but this one really held my attention.
This is a really clever novel set in Victorian England with extremely quirky characters, lots of different back stories and the added bonus of a novel within a novel - thoroughly entertaining - a very different, funny, sad, spooky and wonderfully told story!
Highly recommended 4.5 - 5 stars

Loved It
I really enjoyed this book. The fantasy is frighteningly believable, as if you were there at that time, amongst the characters who are so brilliantly voiced. Couldn't wait to get to the end.. for the right reasons..

Absolutely amazing!
This book was amazing. The story, the tone of the characters, the detail, all fantastic. As a professional Tarot Reader, Psychic and Medium, I appreciate this book more than any other. I say this because the training of the Cloak sisters was almost EXACTLY the training I received from my Psychic mentors. Beyond all that, the book is captivating. Buy this book, you can thank my later.
