Summary
The Dalai Lama's cat is back - older, a bit wiser, and as curious as ever.
In this audiobook, the Dalai Lama sets for his lovable feline companion the task of investigating the art of purring. Whether it's the humorous insights gained from a visiting Ivy League psychology professor, the extraordinary research of a world-famous biologist, or the life-changing revelations of a mystical yogi, His Holiness's cat encounters a wealth of wisdom about happiness. And what she discovers changes the way she sees herself forever.
With a much loved - and growing - cast of characters from the local community and His Holiness's residence, as well as encounters with intriguing strangers and celebrities from far and wide, The Art of Purring will transport listeners in another unforgettable story. Along the way they will come to understand how elements of contemporary science and Buddhism converge. And, once again, they will feel the warmth of compassion and non-attachment that radiate from the heart of the Dalai Lama's teachings about our quest for enduring happiness.

Disapointed!
The first in this series, The Dalai Lama’s Cat is a fab little book. Unfortunately, I found this one to be rather disappointing. It has lots of pleasant chat, but for me, little of substance. The narration was excellent, clear and relaxing. I have purchased the third in the series as I am optimistic (in the Buddhist tradition) that it will be as good as the first. I will however, be returning this one.

The Art Of Happiness
Story is a delight to listen to, with secrets to happiness thrown in for good measure. The story's characters are well drawn and the plot development draws you onto the next chapter as soon as possible. Like the first book in the series, will happily play again, not just for the nuggets of wisdom hidden within each chapter, but for the general sense of well-being the book emanates. The author David Michie narrates, and his voice carries all the subtleties of inflexion that bring an already great book springing to life.

Great continuation of The Dalai Lama's Cat series
I love this series and have found all three books wonderful. This is Book 2, and continues where Book 1 left off. I adore the author's narration, although in general I don't think authors should narrate their own work. In this case, it works perfectly--I don't think anyone else could do justice to Michie's writing. (I am a bit of a sucker for the British accent, though, which might make me biased.)
The only caution I would give readers is that if you decide to listen to this series, do it in sequence, or you'll miss things you probably don't want to miss. Also, I buy and download the Kindle books and read and listen at the same time. Some books seem to lend themselves to that experience and some don't. In my opinion, these do.
I'm getting ready to listen to and/or read some of Michie's other work, like Hurry Up and Meditate, which I hope I enjoy as much as I have this series. He has a good-sized body of work, and I've just discovered he narrates some books by other authors. I'm currently studying Buddhist meditation in hopes of bettering my ability to meditate, and hope that his books will help toward this end.

Perfect and fun followup to The Dalai Lama's Cat
The first book, The Dalai Lama's Cat was really fun to listen to. And, I learned about meditation along the way. I didn't realize there were 3 books in a series, so gleefully indulged in a binge and bought books 2 and 3.
I think there is a right audience for these books, maybe people who might identify with the words "Seeker" or "Awake" or some version of that theme. Such readers would have fun with the clues dropped on the secret identities of celebrity visitors in these books too.
There is a playful energy in these books and listening to these really put me in a good mood, with a quiet smile on my face as I went about my chores, listening to the story unfold.
Well-written story line, with great plot curves, subtle, gentle, and quietly fun - I like being taught ideas this way.
